Essential Duties and Responsibilities
?Performs behavioral assessments that include functional analysis, assessment of
functional skills, and assessments of potential reinforcers (through records, reviews,
direct observation, data collection, interviews, and systematic manipulations)
?Develops, implements, coordinates, monitors, documents, evaluates, and revises
behavioral programming as needed
?Develops individualized instructional programs based on student abilities within
educational, developmental, and/or functional parameters
?Participates as a member of the educational team to assess student performance in
the area of disability or need
?Develops goals and objectives for consideration in IEP and 504 team meetings
Collaborates with the Director of Student Services to plan and implement professional
learning sessions for all school leaderhsip and staff in program implementation, data
collection, monitoring implementation, behavior management, strategies, PBIS systems,
and other best practices
?Collaborates with network and school leadership to plan and implement MTSS and
other scholar support meetings to review progress and concerns
?Implements and supports the follow-through from scholar support meetings (IEP, 504,
MTSS, other)
?Works closely with school leadership and educator teams to ensure proper application
and fidelity of behavior intervention techniques and plans
?Collaborates with network and school leadership, site educators, outside agencies,
families and the public to exchange information, coordinate activities and resolve
issues or concerns
?Assists with the design and implementation of ABA based programs, including early
intensive behavior intervention, discrete trial training, pivotal response training, and
other evidence based teaching approaches that support scholar achievement in
scholars with behavioral challenges
?Assists in the coordination of all behavioral education supports and services in the
network, and supports the development of new behavioral education programs, as
needed
?As needed, conducts multi-site visits for the purpose of providing on-site consultation,
training, and assistance to address and support scholar success
?Observes, coaches, and trains the performance of assigned staff
Assigns staff duties and reviews work to ensure compliance with established guidelines
and procedures
?Provides consultation and assistance to network and school leadership, school staff,
and families concerning behavior management strategies
?Responds to inquiries and provides information concerning related treatment plans,
services, practices, techniques, laws, regulations, policies and procedures
?Provides crisis intervention as necessary, attends other meetings as assigned, and
conducts professional learning activities and training as required
?Maintains professional (BCBA) Certification. Maintains appropriate documentation and
reports as required
?Performs other duties as assigned by Director of Student Services
Requirements
Knowledge and Skills Required
?Knowledge and understanding of the developmental disabilities
Solid knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of ABA including
general behavior assessment and Ethical Standards in Behavior Analysis
?Understanding of federal and state mandates
Solid knowledge and understanding of the behavioral impact of developmental
disabilities, as well as the cognitive, educational, vocational and social challenges
encountered by persons with developmental disabilities
?Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks/goals for self and others
?Ability to plan accordingly and meet deadlines
?Ability to maintain great sense of confidentiality
?Ability to work collaboratively and professionally
?Ability to adhere to all Navigator Schools policies, procedures, and practices
?Ability to work in an office/educational setting environment on a daily, full-time basis
?Ability to travel to other sites and locations
?Ability to compose and comprehend written and oral communication in English
?Ability to write, read and speak in English
?Ability to remain professional when difficult situations arise with scholars, families, and
colleagues
Qualifications
?Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Certification required
?Two or more years of experience working with scholars with disabilities is preferred
?Knowledge of current research and practices in the area of mental health, counseling,
and family support services
?Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
