Job Description
This role reports into the Director – MUFG Trustee Ireland Limited which is part of the Corporate and Regulatory Services department, a global facing team supporting the clients administrative and fiduciary services needs. The Irish based team will work closely with the already established Cayman Trust team and may assist with the teams deliverables in a supportive function. This role has been created to establish an Irish and European presence in the Trustee market and offers an exciting opportunity for the candidate to grow our footprint here. Key responsibilities include the following:
- Ensure that the Trusts are set up legally and are compliant with the relevant authority. Signing off on Trust Deeds and related agreements (e.g. CLO management, paying agents, custodians)
- Acting as a fiduciary agent for the investors of the Trust.
- Perform maker function for the Trust tasks – reconciling noteholder proof of holder, tallying note holder votes.
- Identify any risks or gaps in processes and work with management and the team to implement a better process when necessary
- Support and assist in any change management processes to be implemented on the team
- Manage with the team all risks related to Trust work that may result in any liability to MUFG and ensure the Trustee's fiduciary responsibilities are adhered to. Maintaining ultimate ownership of the portfolio assets
- Ensure that all regulatory fees are paid on an annual basis and on time
- Bill trusts for trustee services and follow up on late payments
- Pay careful attention to any investments or disbursements that the Trust may make to ensure it is within the boundaries of the Deed. Monitoring the admin and other related parties' compliance reporting
- Keep track of all income and distributions and obtain proper records in support. Ensuring all agents are meeting the obligations in the indenture and providing accurate information to investors
- Assist in annual audits as required and ensure audited financials are filed
- Ensure that all agreements and documents are in order and on file
Qualifications
- University degree preferred
- TEP qualification an advantage
