Monroe Capital is seeking an Associate to join its Fund Compliance Group. This group handles several functions within Monroe, including (1) treasury management (2) investment allocations (3) private and retail fund and regulatory compliance (4) ESG compliance, and (5) firm level analytics and reporting. This role will be expected to support each of these functions in various analytical respects.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
The Associate will be primarily responsible for monitoring fund compliance, preparing investment allocations, assisting with strategic capital forecasting and fund capitalization strategies. The candidate will act as liaison between several groups including Senior Management, Underwriting, Investor Relations, Accounting, Operations, Regulatory Compliance, Fund Finance and Legal. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Collaborate on allocation of new investment opportunities in accordance with Monroe’s allocation policy
- Maintain databases of loan portfolio and industry-wide financial information
- Track and monitor portfolio characteristics against third party guidelines to help portfolio managers optimize performance
- Oversee season and sell analysis for trades to offshore funds
- Evaluate and recommend capital calls and debt facility borrowings
- Create strategic presentation materials
- Monitor LPA fund documents & side letter compliance
- Manage BDC compliance and co-investment rules
- Assist with BDC board communications
- Quarterly fund compliance deliverables
- Manage ESG program including third-party vendor relationship
- Liaise with internal counsel on tech-enabled compliance software
Requirements
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience in accounting, compliance, commercial banking, corporate banking, or a related financial services firm.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
- Knowledge of borrowing bases, covenant calculations, and/or lender reporting a plus
- CLO compliance and indenture or Private Fund financing experience a plus
- Detail-oriented
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects and deadlines well
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Compensation: It is expected that the base salary range for this position will be $90,000-$120,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as skills, experience, and qualifications for the role. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial and / or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation, sick time and parental leave) dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, the employee will be in an ‘at-will position’ and the Firm reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time including for reasons related to individual performance, Firm or individual department / team performance and market factors.
