Coordinates and administers continuous improvement efforts. Records and evaluates continuous improvement project results. Tracks improvement performance and cost reductions against targets. May work closely with production management and process control team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Production Manager in facilitation of Kaizen events, training, and implementation and tracking of KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
  • Continuous recognition of improvements with production staff to meet customer demand or departmental needs.
  • Involved with the implementation and monitoring of the benchmarks related to lean manufacturing.
  • Will train and educate employees in all aspects of lean manufacturing via onboarding training/ ongoing training. Can support other plant wide training or compliance with safety
  • May assist Managers to ensure that implemented lean processes are being followed.
  • Support plant with work order management using system to keep system optimal under direction of production manager
  • Facilitate Cable Assemblies Materials management work with Production manager to coordinate material orders and monitor Kanban system to ensure supplies are on hand
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications Required:

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles is required, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training is a plus. Further training is available.
  • Strong "hands on" mechanical skills, problem solving, and critical thinking are essential.
  • Must be a self-starting and detail-oriented individual who enjoys working in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Some knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word (further training is available).
  • Ability to create, read and interpret documents such as operating, safety, and maintenance work instructions.
  • Experience in change management processes, experience with cross-functional Kaizen events is preferred.
  • Strong facilitation, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Results oriented and prepared to deal with ambiguity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Primarily day shift position but may be required to work on off shifts on occasion with notice.
