Liberty Classical Schools seeks a full-time Data and Analytics Specialist. The Data and Analytics Specialist will be the primary data expert for our classical education system, overseeing data collection and delivering insights through dashboards, reports, and ad-hoc analyses to support compliance and decision-making. This role focuses on coordinating data collection from schools for board reports and authorizer requests (e.g., enrollment, assessment, and other education related data), creating and updating Power BI dashboards, and handling diverse data tasks with creativity and professionalism. The Specialist will design efficient workflows, such as processing CSVs for dashboards, and standardize processes for clarity and scalability. The ideal candidate will combine technical skills, initiative, and a passion for our mission.
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Data Collection and Oversight: Coordinate with schools to collect data for board reports and authorizer requests, and independently gather necessary data from internal and external sources as needed.
- Data Preparation: Clean and aggregate data using Python or SQL (e.g., processing CSVs from schools) to prepare it for dashboards and reports.
- Dashboard Development: Create and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, including monthly KPI reports and longitudinal tracking, for leadership and authorizers.
- Ad-hoc Analysis: Fulfill one-off requests, such as analyzing CSVs, creating pivot tables/charts, or generating insights for strategic needs.
- Excel Reporting: Update spreadsheets and produce professional reports or charts in Excel for board meetings or authorizer submissions.
- Workflow Design: Creatively build and improve data processes (e.g., scripting CSV processing, automating dashboard updates) to streamline recurring and ad-hoc tasks.
- Process Standardization: Standardize processes with consistent naming, documented scripts, and clear templates to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Data Accessibility: Organize data in cloud-based tools (e.g., Google Cloud Storage, BigQuery) to ensure it’s secure and accessible for dashboards.
Qualified candidates will meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field required.
- 5+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a similar role required.
- Proficiency in Power BI for creating and updating dashboards, including longitudinal tracking.
- Strong skills in Python for data cleaning, aggregation, and scripting workflows.
- Expertise in SQL for querying and organizing data.
- Proficiency in Excel for pivot tables, charts, and report generation.
- Familiarity with Google BigQuery or similar cloud data platforms.
- Basic knowledge of cloud storage (e.g., Google Cloud Storage) for data organization.
- Creativity in designing data processes and problem-solving to address new challenges.
- Strong communication and organizational skills to coordinate data collection and prioritize tasks.
- Experience with student information systems (e.g., Infinite Campus) or education data is a plus.
