Join our team as a Finance Manager and take the lead in shaping the financial future of our firm. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, you’ll play a key role in managing our accounting operations, maintaining robust financial systems, and ensuring a strong internal control environment. This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, while also managing critical aspects of cash flow and internal controls. As Finance Manager, you'll become a subject matter expert in our financial and billing systems and contribute to system improvements that support our long-term goals. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in committees focused on optimizing timekeeping, billing, and accounting platforms. Responsibilities:
- Manages the firm’s cash receipts and disbursements processes, ensuring proper recording, accuracy, and adherence to internal controls.
- Provides leadership and oversight of the accounts receivable function, including monitoring outstanding balances, enforcing credit policies, resolving billing discrepancies, and ensuring timely collection of payments.
- Reviews and approves outgoing payments, including vendor invoices, reimbursements, and other disbursements.
- Oversees internal payroll processing and monitors that completion is in a timely and accurate manner.
- Facilitates and coordinates multiple deadlines, creates cohesive teams, and responds quickly to EC & Shareholder requests.
- Manages financial risk and preservation of assets by developing, implementing, and maintaining internal controls to safeguard firm assets and ensure compliance with established processes and procedures.
- Identifies and implements standardization and improvements processes for accounts payables, accounts receivable and payroll.
- Works with the CFO and Director of Finance to identify and implement accounting systems continuous improvement plans.
- Oversees annual 1099 reporting.
- Manages, develops, and supervises team members into an empowered team.
- Supports month-end and year-end close processes.
Qualifications:
- Four-year accounting degree or equivalent experience
- CPA preferred
- Minimum of five years of demonstrated competency in a business role, with supervisory experience required
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Products (ERP)
- Preferred experience with Thomson Reuters Practice and ACS
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and adapt to changing demands
- High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
