Systems Reliability Engineer (SRE)

This is a hybrid opportunity in New York, NY (3 days onsite per week).

About this Position
Join a growing Systems Reliability Engineering (SRE) team within a global financial services leader’s Production Engineering organization. In this role, you’ll enhance system service availability, observability, performance, and resilience through modern software engineering principles and infrastructure automation. This is a dynamic opportunity for candidates passionate about system reliability, operational support, and continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering teams to design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable systems.

• Troubleshoot across the full technology stack — hardware, software, application, and network.

• Identify opportunities and implement automation to improve system management and visibility.

• Provide production support services and participate in an on-call rotation (2x per month, including weekends/holidays).

• Represent the engineering team in design reviews and operational readiness exercises.

Job Skills/Requirements

• Proficiency with Linux system administration.

• Strong experience in database scripting, performance tuning, and monitoring (Sybase, DB2, Greenplum).

• Working knowledge of Python, Perl, or Shell scripting.

• Solid troubleshooting and analytical skills for metrics, trends, and reporting.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills to work with global teams.

• Flexibility for on-call rotations and hybrid work (3 days/week onsite).

• Good to Have: Experience in financial services or investment banking environments. Familiarity with monitoring/alerting tools (Splunk, AppDynamics, ElasticSearch). Knowledge of development tools like Git and Jenkins. Agile, DevOps, or SRE experience. Understanding of cloud technology.

Additional Information: Hybrid schedule: 3 days/week onsite. On-call rotation: 2x/month, including weekends/holidays. Contract-to-hire potential.

Pay Range: $65-$75/hour
