THE OPPORTUNITY

Title: Programme Manager

Location:  Germany or Austria

Job summary

The Programme Manager is responsible for the successful coordination and delivery of strategic customer programs, encompassing multiple projects across the Digital Solutions group in the designated region for Iron Mountain. The Program Manager ensures that implementation initiatives align with both the customer's business objectives and Iron Mountain’s strategic goals.

The Program Manager leads the end-to-end planning and execution of programs, provides oversight to Project Managers, Implementation teams, and technical resources, and acts as the main point of contact for client escalations and strategic alignment. The role also includes financial oversight, governance support, and identification of growth opportunities within client engagements.

Your role in our mission: 

Strategic Client & Business Alignment

  • Define business objectives in collaboration with clients and internal stakeholders.

  • Ensure all implementation initiatives align with both the customer’s and Iron Mountain’s strategies.

  • Identify, forecast, and manage risks while adjusting scope and approach as necessary.

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with senior client stakeholders.

  • Support clients in implementing change and maximizing business value through delivered solutions.

Governance & Delivery Excellence

  • Support and mentor Project Managers and Implementation teams to ensure smooth execution across all projects in a program.

  • Act as the main escalation point for customer programs – resolving conflicts, managing expectations.

  • Lead regular program reviews with clients and internal teams to assess progress and quality.

  • Coordinate with Resource Management and Delivery Services teams to eliminate operational gaps.

  • Define timelines, escalation matrices, and delivery milestones for overarching programs.

Financial & Operational Oversight

  • Oversee billing compliance and alignment with contractual terms.

  • Track and manage budgets and expenditures across all projects within the program.

  • Document, communicate, and control out-of-scope work.

  • Support presales efforts by participating in solution design and scoping discussions.

  • Streamline internal onboarding, configuration, and contracting processes for program efficiency.

Stakeholder Communication & Business Growth

  • Provide strategic-level reporting to C-level and senior client leadership.

  • Support the sales team by presenting implementation results as case studies.

  • Identify and develop opportunities for upselling and extended partnerships.

  • Serve as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for clients, ensuring consistent and effective communication.

Technical and Operational Delivery (aligned with existing duties)

  • Provide advanced technical consulting and advice on solution design, system configuration, and optimization.

  • Partner with Sales and Presales teams to shape valuable and feasible solutions.

  • Execute and refine implementation methodologies and reporting structures.

  • Manage and forecast resource allocation across all active projects.

  • Ensure satisfaction and adherence to defined KPIs, SLAs, and quality standards.

  • Promote and comply with all IT governance and compliance policies.

Focus:

  • Design, Development, Testing, Production implementation and support of DMS IT Solutions across Europe 

  • Programme/Project Planning, Resource Planning

  • Alignment on tools, processes & standards

  • Publication of status reports/updates in alignment with regional and global IT standards/processes

Valued skills and experience:

  • Proven track record delivering best-in-class Digital Solutions across diverse client programs.

  • Demonstrated leadership of project and program teams within a global, matrixed organization.

  • Extensive experience in SDLC, Agile, change management, and multi-project coordination.

  • Strong background in document and information management technologies (DMS, BPM, A/P, OCR, etc.).

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Proven ability to make independent decisions, manage visible programs, and influence cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, resource-constrained, global environment.

  • Capable of identifying and mitigating high-impact risks across programs.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills tailored to executive audiences.
