The International Foundation is seeking an Accounting Intern for Fall of 2025, which may begin as early as August 1. This opportunity carries the possibility of being extended into Spring of 2026, depending on business needs and candidate availability and performance. Ideal applicants will have current Junior or Senior Standing in a four-year Accounting Program. This internship will provide invaluable, hands-on experience in a complex, multi-company (4 organizations) structure with international (US and CAN) implications, learning from a tenured Finance & Accounting leadership team.    

  • Be trained to accurately and independently conduct various entry-level accounting functions, including:
    • Conduct revenue recognition; completing journal entries for all revenues (e.g.: conferences, memberships, CEBS exams, etc.) 
    • Reconcile “Stale Dated Checks” and perform follow-up (Reissue or Cancel)
    • Prepare Monthly Bank Reconciliations
    • Process Revenue Refunds
    • Reconcile A/R accounts 
    • Reconcile G/L accounts 
    • May review/process Employee Expense Reports/Employee Credit Card Statements


  • Under the direction of a Senior Accountant or Leadership, gain exposure and provide support in advanced accounting functions, including:
    • Maintain Fixed Asset records, Repair and Maintenance expense Classification, and Capital Asset journaling 
    • Reconcile and summarize intercompany transactions (4 companies)
    • Perform Account Variance Reconciliations (horizontal and vertical analysis)
    • End-of-Year processing
    • Potential to gain audit experience (if extended through Spring 2026)

Work Environment:

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Junior or Senior standing in a current, four-year Accounting Program with at least a 3.0 GPA
  • Ability to work 15-25 hours per week from our office in Brookfield, WI - M-F between 8am-5pm (no hybrid or remote option)
  • Quick, adaptable learner with the willingness to try new things 
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills 
  • Solid written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Prior Accounting Internship or related work is preferred, but not required

This job requires repetitive bending and lifting, and the ability to safely climb ladders and step ladders in order to secure appropriate measurements. The AutoCAD drafting work will be based at a desk.
