Job Description
Senior Transmission Planning & Studies Engineer to support high-impact utility and industrial electrical system studies across North America. This is a senior-level role offering full-time remote flexibility or the option to work from one of several U.S. offices.
About the Role:
You’ll collaborate with other engineers to model complex utility and industrial power systems and perform advanced planning and operational studies. The work spans both long-term strategic planning and near-term operational decision support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct power flow, short-circuit, and dynamic stability studies
- Support feasibility and interconnection assessments for utilities and IPPs
- Evaluate critical clearing times, relay settings, and system reliability impacts
- Prepare models using software such as PSSE, PSLF, or similar
- Write proposals and technical reports; present findings to clients and stakeholders
- Contribute to business development and mentoring junior engineers
Qualifications
- BSEE and PE license required
- 10+ years of experience in transmission planning and system studies
- Strong experience with PSSE, PSLF, or equivalent tools
- Excellent technical writing and client-facing communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage technical projects
- Willing to travel occasionally (10%+)
