  • Strengthen the BU’s ability to identify, assess, and escalate conduct and control risks.
  • Ensure governance aligns with wider enterprise expectations (first-line risk ownership, FCA standards).

3. Programme & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the coordination lead between BU teams (Product, Ops, Tech), Compliance, Risk, and third-party consultants.
  • Set up and drive working groups and delivery forums to track actions and enable accountability.
  • Communicate updates, risks, and escalations to BU leadership and central governance forums.

4. Sustained Change & Readiness

  • Help the BU prepare for future regulatory reviews, board reporting, and audit assessments.
  • Support the transition of Consumer Duty efforts from project mode to embedded BAU practice.
  • Identify other change areas in governance or controls where the BU may need improvement.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in business governance, risk, conduct, or regulatory change delivery.
  • Strong project or programme management skills, including stakeholder coordination and action tracking.
  • Familiarity with FCA regulations (especially Consumer Duty) and first-line ownership principles.
  • Ability to mobilise and influence stakeholders across functions without formal authority.

Preferred Background:

  • Experience working in a 1st line business role in financial services (e.g., Product, Operations, Governance).
  • Exposure to regulatory change projects, customer outcomes, or control environment improvements.
