We are seeking an Engineering Supervisor for our Cartridge Valve design department at our Glendale Heights/Schaumburg, IL facility. Salary is commiserated with experience, and compensation for this position is between $110,000-130,000.  You will make an impact in this role by:

  • Supervise, plan, and manage the day-to-day activities of the design engineering team
  • Design and develop Solenoid Valves, Pressure Control Valves, Directional Valves and Proportional Valves etc.
  • This is a hands-on position. You will have your own projects and help manage the projects of your team
  • Set short and long-term goals for your team
  • Use your expertise to mentor and grow the capabilities of your team
  • Check and verify the output of your team through drawing checking, design reviews, simulation studies etc.
  • Create and execute DVP&R and NPI plans for new product introduction
  • Report to senior management on department activities
  • Work closely with the Product Management team to bring new products to market
  • Work closely with the Manufacturing team to develop robust processes to ensure product quality
  • Collaborate with our global facilities to align new product developments
  • Conduct research into new or alternate technologies, materials, or processes
  • Create and apply design standards
  • Participate with other departments to address manufacturing, design, or quality issues, and ensure the continuous    improvement of designs and processes

Requirements

Key skills and attributes for success include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, with 5 years relevant work experience
  • Prior experience in fluid power design
  • Project management ability
  • Knowledge of material properties and manufacturing processes related to high pressure fluid power components
  • Knowledge of simulation techniques such and FEA and CFD
  • Expertise in drafting, GD&T, hydraulic principles, circuit diagrams and symbols etc.
  • Able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future
