To guide the development and implementation of Council’s Community Grants program.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead the governance and administration of Hume’s Community Grants program.
- Ensure the delivery of best practice and high-quality end-to-end funding processes and services through effective administrative systems.
- Resolve complex operational issues through consultation and negotiation and ensure continual improvement of grants programs.
- Adhere to organisational policy frameworks and procedures relating to Community Grants program.
- Manage risks relating to conflicts of interest, fraud, and noncompliance of the Community Grants program.
- Develop, implement and maintain an internal service delivery model to support grant program delivery.
- Strategically plan, lead and project manage grant program design, and evaluation processes, collaborating with internal stakeholders, including the Organisational Performance and Strategy and Strategic Communications and Advocacy teams.
- Provide support to community and Council as needed and maintain links with community groups and leaders in working towards successful grant application and program implementation.
The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role:
- Knowledge of Community Development principles.
- Demonstrated experience in managing staff to deliver grants programs and achieve outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience in engaging multiple stakeholders, enhancing public participation and community capacity through the delivery of Community Grants program and a variety of community development processes, practices and activities.
- Interpret, present and convey sometimes complex information to different audiences using a range of mediums.
- Demonstrated ability to gain cooperation and assistance from staff, service providers and the community.
- The ability to contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- The ability to plan, implement, report on and evaluate Community Grants projects, providing sound and timely advice, information and data on issues relating to diverse and/or disadvantaged communities accessing grants programs.
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills including ability to prepare correspondence, Council reports, financial reports, and acquittals.
Required Certifications & Qualifications:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Social Sciences, Community Development or a related field, with a focus on community development and some relevant experience, or lesser formal qualifications with substantial relevant experience.
- Current driver’s licence.
- Experience with SmartyGrants is desirable
