Intermediate .Net MAUI Developer

Octane Systems has 20 years’ experience in the fuel industry, designing and developing an end-to-end ERP solution for customers in NZ, Australia, and Canada. One of Octane’s major strengths is its ability to integrate with a vast array of petroleum-specific solutions, including fuel meters, POS applications, in-cab truck solutions, web-based peripheral applications, and other ERP products. Reporting to the Development Manager, you will primarily focus on developing and maintaining cross-platform applications using .NET MAUI within a Scrum team environment. You will also contribute to other software development projects, engaging in the full software development life cycle. You will be expected to methodically work through processes/systems with a logical mindset to understand how they function and apply this knowledge to sourced data and integrations.

Technical skills & experience required (mandatory):

• 3+ years’ .NET development experience, including .NET MAUI or Xamarin.Forms
• 3+ years’ C# experience
• Proficiency in XAML for building cross-platform UI with .NET MAUI
• Experience interfacing with third-party APIs
• SQL Database experience (SQL query writing)
• Data translation and data import skills
• A technical mindset with natural inquisitiveness to learn how systems work
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including sound English language skills 

Additional skills we are looking for: 

• ASP.Net web experience
• MVC Framework experience
• HTML/CSS and Javascript | jQuery 
• Unit Testing | xUnit
• Building web APIs including using RESTful API 
• VB.Net experience will be advantageous
• Exposure to reporting tools (e.g., Crystal Reports or similar)
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum team environment is advantageous
• Familiarity with Azure or other cloud platforms is a plus

This role has the potential for a hybrid mix of WFH and in-office (2-3 days/week) in our Docklands location across the road from the picturesque South Wharf Marina in Melbourne.
