Salary: $17.81 - $19 per hour

In 1990, a small group of dedicated volunteers with a desire to eliminate substandard housing in our community founded San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity. Thanks to our supporters, more than 300 local and international families have been able to build or repair their own homes here in Los Angeles’ San Gabriel Valley and beyond. Through the years, we have maintained our unrelenting determination to help families in need by offering a hand up, not a handout. Through donations, shopping at our ReStores, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability, and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves.
Job Summary:
The Marketing Intern is a valued member of the marketing team at San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity who works on marketing, communications, fundraising, and administrative projects to assist in telling the organization’s story to our community. We are seeking an intern that will help San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity maintain a felt presence across all platforms and accurately share our vision through marketing promotions.
Key Responsibilities:
As we prepare to make homeownership accessible to more local and international families than ever before, we are on the lookout for a Marketing Intern. This addition to our team will help to execute the following the following items and have a minimum of 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience:
- Organize content and photos from team members that will be used for promotion.
- Function as a member of the marketing team: collaborate with other team members, participate in staff meetings, and participate in shaping the department’s strategic direction.
- Collaborate closely with the marketing manager to organize department materials.
- Create videos that tell the story of the affiliate and those who support us.
- Develop a series of Public Service Announcements & videos to promote San Gabriel Valley’s Habitat efforts to share the message about our work – particularly documenting the rebuilding efforts after the Eaton Fire.
- Create multimedia content (audio, visual and written) to be shared with print, online and broadcast media and shared via our digital and social channels.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- An applied undergraduate college student — a diligent worker with a GPA of 3.0 or better.
- Equipment Requirement: Digital Video Camera and Mic, computer, editing software.
- Written & verbal communication—you are a strong writer; you’re a great listener and can adapt your communication style to meet our marketing department’s needs.
- Project management—you excel at managing multiple projects to achieve goals and act self-sufficiently.
- Software skills—entry level skills in Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) Experience in WordPress is preferred, but not required.
