SUMMARY: Groundfloor’s Lending business unit is seeking a high-performing Asset Manager to join our Servicing team. The ideal candidate has 5+ years experience in loan servicing, residential asset management, construction loan oversight, and default management. This role involves borrower communications (you must be comfortable and confident on the phone!), loan administration system documentation, and a consistent effort to drive loan repayments while fostering and sustaining long-term customer relationships.

THIS JOB MIGHT BE FOR YOU: 

  • Strong negotiation skills - the ability to see the big picture, compromise when necessary, and reach positive outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills - a plus for investor-facing experience preparing and presenting loan-level and portfolio updates to investors.
  • Default or special servicing residential loan experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of lending practices, loan documents, and residential real estate partnership agreements. 
  • Self-driven mindset - meeting/exceeding targets, setting personal goals, monitoring loan portfolio health.

A DAY IN THE LIFE: 

  • Outbound calls to borrowers to maintain communication, receive updates on their project progress and progress towards repayment, and foster a long-term customer relationship experience.
  • Respond to inbound and outbound email communications in a timely manner - including internal and external and systems-generated communications and tasks.
  • Generate weekly and monthly repayment projections and identify loans that require escalation.
  • Manage and monitor third party vendor performance.
  • Weekly team meetings - where you’ll bring ideas for process improvements and surface issues with recommendations for resolution.

YOUR EXPERIENCE + A FEW NICE TO HAVES:

  • 5+ years experience in residential mortgage servicing - plus for RTL experience.
  • BA/BS degree preferred.
  • Interest in finance, startups, and real estate.
  • Strong analytical skills, adept with Microsoft Suite - particularly with Excel.
