The Role:
The GM Test Track Lead plays a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of General Motors sponsorship of Test Track at Disney World in Orlando, FL. This exciting role serves as the onsite lead at GM Test Track and is the liaison for GM employees visiting the GM Test Track lounge, enhancing their experience while visiting Disney. The role will also lead onsite staffing and operations of the vehicle showroom area, develop the yearly vehicle plan for the showroom, monitor vehicles and lead and arrange for changeouts. This person will also plan and coordinate onsite events as they arise, find opportunities for social media amplification in partnership with the GM social media COE, and assist GM teams with events such as vehicle reveals. In addition, this person will also provide support to the GM and co-branded merchandise area, assisting the Merchandise Excellence team to ensure timelines for data reporting and change out cadence are achieved. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working with a dedicated team.
The person who assumes this role will assist corporate and agency partners to ensure all aspects of activation are executed successfully. This position requires an understanding of experiences, events, goals and objectives and the ability to communicate these to broader team members.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):
- Serve as the GM representative onsite for key events, ensuring a consistent and positive brand image
- Lead the development and implementation of on-site event and experiential marketing strategies at GM Test Track
- Interviewing and hiring of on-site team to support GM showroom within GM Test Track attraction
- Manage & lead team of 25 product specialists: hiring, training, feedback, performance management, etc.
- Oversee GM (3rd party) vehicle ops & maintenance team
- Develop, in coordination with vehicle brand marketing teams, the strategy and execution of vehicles for GM showroom including lead generation
- Lead and/or assist in the planning and execution of onsite events, including but not limited to any product launches, test drive events, and brand activations at GM Test Track
- Coordinate the team and on-site logistics for the GM lounge at Test Track including vendor management, on-site setup, and any VIP requirements/requests
- Work closely with GM and Disney partners to ensure cohesive program execution, and attraction assets are updated in a timely manner
- Manage administration of contractual obligations including key deliverables, contracted tickets, etc.
- Ensure GM merchandise in gift shop is attractively displayed and adequately stocked.
- Maintain budget, forecast and create purchase orders for all programs related to the experience
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, preparing presentations, and maintaining event documentation and work with little direct managerial oversight.
- The GM Test Track lead will need to be able to make spot decisions: personnel, product/display, safety & quality, guest relationships, and unexpected issues
- High degree of professionalism and EQ to build relationships with on-site Disney team while at the same time advocating for GM needs
- Must be able to work onsite at GM Test Track attraction Monday - Friday
- Some weekends and evenings may be required
Additional Job Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field (master’s preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in marketing, with experience developing and executing partnerships, experiential marketing and event production related roles
- Strong interest in the commitment to provide top level service and create unique customer experiences
- Ability to lead various teams in achieving collective goals related live events
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong project management skills with exceptional organizational ability to multitask
- Creative thinker with a passion for delivering innovative marketing solutions
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced matrixed work environment
- Finance and budget planning experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
