A summer internship at Geffen Mesher in our Client Accounting Services Department is designed to give you a head start in your career as an outsourced or industry accountant.  Not only will you gain technical experience, but you will be provided with mentoring and coaching critical to building a successful career path. 

During this internship you will join our Client Accounting Services team for instructional as well as hands-on training in the transaction processing, month end close, and financial reporting services we provide our clients. Our goal of the program us to give you the most accurate idea of what working with us is like. Throughout the program you will also join our assurance and tax interns to participate in additional staff training and be provided with coaching and mentoring in the areas of networking and professional development.  And since the summertime is amazing in Portland, we also like to throw in a few fun activities there too! In fact, our internship is only 32 hours a week, Monday through Thursday, because we close the office on Fridays in the summer.

Requirements

What makes you a fit:

• Must be working to obtain an Associates, Bachelor’s, Master’s or Postbaccalaureate degree in accounting
• Working knowledge of basic office technology and software (MS Office Suite)
• Must have high integrity and trustworthiness
• Ability to learn accounting specific accounting software
• Must be goal oriented and have a desire to learn
• Possess strong aptitude for analytical, technical, and problem-solving work
• Professional communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
