Financial Systems Manager
Job Description
The Financial System Manager is responsible for the functional management of the financial information systems. The primary objectives for this position are to ensure that all finance system and finance-related modules are working effectively and efficiently; staff are trained in the use of the system; the data has integrity; proper security is in place to prevent unauthorized access and processing; testing of systems upgrades are performed and financial reporting is occurring timely and accurately. The Manager is the liaison between Finance and Information Services (IS) and represents the Finance group at all related meetings. The Manager is responsible for at times the project management on technology related projects related to the Finance function. This leader should effectively exhibit JD Finish Line’s core values of Customer, People, Winning, Community, and Financial Responsibility in everything they do by performing the following key duties:
Oversees and acts as systems administrator for all Finance systems, including ReconNet, Spreadsheet Server, PeopleSoft, and any newly implemented systems.
Ensures Finance systems are maintained and functioning in order to meet the needs of the business on a daily basis and provides training in the use of these systems.
Reviews, analyzes and evaluates business systems, processes and user needs, to ensure the financial systems and processes are meeting the objectives of business strategies and reporting requirements.
Makes recommendations on improving existing processes throughout the Finance departments, including automation where possible.
Develops, enhances and maintains operational and ad-hoc reports to satisfy internal and external reporting requirements.
Assists with new technical upgrades, partnering with IT where appropriate on special projects.
Store Cash Management Supervisor will report to this position.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Additional duties and projects as required.
Required Education and/or Experience-
Associates degree in Accounting or a related field from a two-year college or university, with 5 – 7 years relevant experience, including supervisory experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience with financial systems, as a power user or administrator, required.
Required Computer and/or Technical Skills-
Should have intermediate to advanced knowledge and abilities with Microsoft Office software. In particular, must be especially strong in the use of Excel, Word and other comparable applications. Effectively utilizes software to demonstrate strong financial and analytical skills.

The work environment for this position is a moderately noisy office setting.
