About the Role

Fanatics Betting & Gaming is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our Customer Intelligence team. You’ll play a critical role in shaping how we understand, engage, and retain our customers across the Fanatics Sportsbook and Casino platforms. This is a high-impact position where you'll partner with cross-functional teams across Product, Marketing, CRM, Loyalty, and Engineering to uncover actionable insights, develop predictive models, and influence strategy at scale.

What You’ll Do

 1. Analytical Leadership & Strategic Insight

  • Design and lead analyses to understand key customer behaviors (e.g., retention, early value, churn risk, lifecycle segments).
  • Develop frameworks to measure the effectiveness of customer engagement strategies and loyalty initiatives.
  • Translate complex findings into compelling narratives and clear recommendations for executive stakeholders.

 
 2. Modeling & Experimentation

  • Build and own production-grade models (e.g., LTV prediction, churn modeling, segmentation).
  • Design A/B and multivariate experiments to test hypotheses around personalized experiences, early win strategies, and lifecycle interventions. 
  • Partner with engineering to productionize and monitor model performance.
     

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a thought partner to Product, Marketing, and Lifecycle teams on targeting, personalization, and measurement. 
  • Partner with the Fan Ecosystem and FBG Data Engineering teams to define scalable data assets that support customer analytics and experimentation. 
  • Present insights and strategic recommendations directly to senior leadership.
     

4. Mentorship & Best Practices

  • Mentor junior analysts and data scientists on statistical methods, modeling techniques, and analytical approaches. 
  • Champion analytical rigor, data quality, and ethical use of customer data across the team.

     

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in data science or analytics, preferably in a consumer-facing digital business (e.g., eCommerce, gaming, fintech, or mobile apps).
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python; experience with large-scale distributed data (e.g., Spark).
  • Deep experience designing and analyzing experiments; comfort with causal inference techniques is a plus. 
  • Proven track record of developing and deploying predictive models in production. 
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience with customer lifecycle analysissegmentation, or personalization is highly desirable. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Economics, Computer Science); advanced degree a plus.

     

Bonus Points For

  • Familiarity with sports bettingiGaming, or loyalty programs
  • Experience with DatabricksAirflow, or MLOps tools.

The expected salary range for this role is based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role is eligible for the Fanatics Betting and Gaming annual bonus program and an equity award. *Salary range is listed in USD; actual salary will vary based on location. *Salary Range: $128,000 - $180,000 per year (actual salary will be determined in part by a successful candidate’s geographic location). In addition to base salary, bonus, and equity, full-time employees are eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, paid time off, and other benefits like GymPass, Pet Insurance, Family Care Benefits, and more. We’ll also give you $700 to set up your home office! Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

This is a remote position; however, candidates must reside in one of the following states: AL, AZ, GA, IA, IN, KY, LA, MI, MN, MO, NE, NH, NC, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VT, VA, WA, WI, WV. Alternatively, we are open to a hybrid role based in Denver, CO.
