Reporting to the Director of Field HR, with a dotted line to the region VP, you will support a region of approximately 200-400 front-line employees and branch managers. As a strategic partner to the Regional VP, you will advise your employee group on Human Resources (HR) strategies, policies, practices, and procedures with the goal of driving effective business operations. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in Fairway’s growth through supporting mergers and acquisitions.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide human resources guidance and counseling to managers and/or employees on the effective application of the Company's HR policies in the areas of recruiting, onboarding, performance management, employee development, training, compensation, and benefits. 
  • Assist in the development and execution of Company-wide HR strategies that support successful business outcomes. 
  • Serve as a liaison between the field and corporate support functions by delivering communication and training on Company initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment and labor regulations. 
  • Conduct investigations regarding employee complaints and concerns. 
  • Lead employee engagement, recognition, and performance management activities within supported region. 
  • Support branch managers and supervisors through people management activities such as progressive discipline, performance reviews, staffing and interviewing. 
  • Support Leave and Benefits Manager with administration of leaves of absence and open enrollment activities within supported region. 
  • Support company-wide Talent Acquisition initiatives through interviewing, assisting managers with performance management, communicating and/or tracking career pathing programs. 
  • Stay abreast of local, state, and federal laws, advise management of changes, and ensure branch compliance and take remedial action when necessary. 
  • Support acquisitions through conducting HR due diligence and traveling to newly acquired companies to support integration efforts.

Requirements

  •  Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an HR Generalist role required. 
  • Four-year degree in Human Resources or a similar field of study required. 
  • SHRM or PHR certification strongly preferred. 
  • Experience supporting a multi-site organization preferred. 
  • Prior experience supporting M&A efforts preferred. 
  • Knowledge of applicable employment laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels. 
  • Proactive problem solving abilities and knowledge of operational impacts of proposed solutions. 
  • Awareness of varying levels of abilities and talents and the desire to coach, teach and guide employees. 
  • Strong business acumen with ability to influence multiple levels within the Company, maintain confidentiality, and respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. 
  • 25% travel required.
