Responsible for working with mortgage advisors and operations to process specific tasks on a loan file within 24 – 48 hours so that loans can proceed to underwriting to create quick turn-around of loan files.
This position requires above average organizational and critical thinking skills, as well as acute attention to detail. The candidate must also possess an above average working knowledge of all loan types, documents, and investor guidelines. This position follows company policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely processing.
Requirements
- Work and communicate with Mortgage Advisors and Operations to set up new loan files verifying loan document compliance to all applicable laws and regulations.
- Responsible to ascertain that all appraisers used have current licenses and insurance and to track ordered appraisals to determine that appraisers are maintaining our acceptable timeframes (specifics to follow in this document).
- Maintain and demonstrate proficiency with loan software applications as required (Encompass, FHA Connection, Veterans Administration portal, etc).
- Receive files from Mortgage Advisors within Encompass (email notification and the file should be assigned to your pipeline)
- Review Mavent Compliance report and resolve any errors found
- Assign an underwriter to the file (must be done prior to ordering title so the title request form reflects the underwriter’s contact info)
- Order Title
- Order Appraisal (within 24 hours from time file was received)
- Order Verifications for the file
- Make any notes about the file that you want the underwriter to know within the conversation log or email
- Finish your milestone when ready to pass the file on to the underwriter
- Send Mortgage Loan Status email to borrower(s) and copy realtor and mortgage advisor
- Retrieve Certificate of Eligibility for Veterans loans through the VA Portal
- Maintain up to date knowledge through training and guide for Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and be a resource for questions regarding its standards.
- Assist Controller with Closed Loan Audits
- Order office supplies (communicating with Office Administrator at main office)
- Office maintenance to include IT and janitor closet access, sign postings for closings/delays, ensure clean and presentable office, schedule office maintenance needs, office equipment maintenance needs, general office needs, etc.

Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or GED Minimum 3 years of experience working mortgage loan processing
