Primary Function:

The primary objective of the Inside Sales Specialist is to contact previous customers and prequalified borrowers via outreach sales calls, emails, text messages, etc.  to keep in touch, solicit referrals, solicit new applications, and ask how servicing is being handled, as well as solicit business by contacting prequalified applicants to keep in touch, take applications, price the loan, set up a borrower call with the Mortgage Specialist to review options, and keep the borrower up to date throughout the loan process when appropriate.  


**Position requires approved Mortgage Loan Originator License in multiple states. Assistance with obtaining license for those who hold a Federal Banking License will be provided.

Position will have hourly base wage plus commission potential!


Duties:

The following duties would be applicable:

  • Follow-up and maintain contact with all borrowers who have applied for a prequalification until they find their home and apply for the mortgage financing.
  • Contact previous customers to solicit future refinance or purchase business via purposeful contact attempts that provide value to the customer.
  • Ask for introductions at every available opportunity and expect one.
  • Take applications as needed or direct the borrower to apply on our website.
  • Answer borrower questions about the application process through closing.
  • Follow-up with borrowers who have not completed the application process to answer their questions and encourage them to apply by providing information that implies necessary action such as rates are down, home prices have settled, special offer, etc.
  • Utilize the computer through Encompass for communication and access of daily rates, credit reports, automated underwriting responses, and transmitting the loan to processing In addition, utilize ERMA (CRM system), Microsoft Co-Pilot, and other technology as appropriate to further position and company goals.
  • Analyze borrower’s financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting the mortgage  loan.
  • Communicate to all borrowers in the application to closing phase of their loan to keep them informed on the progress, if determined.
  • Schedule meetings between the borrower and Mortgage Specialist to review options.
  • Continuously track results from all contact and contact attempts with previous customers via identified systems and update management as requested regarding progress.
  • Handle customer complaints and take appropriate action to resolve them.
  • Achieve results based on set goals for daily contact with previous customers or prequal customers.
  • Maintain high levels of customer service while managing each applicant's and support staff's expectations.
  • Maintain knowledge of available loan products, processing procedures, and underwriting and general departmental guidelines.
  • Complete annual state-specific Continuing  Education requirements to maintain licensure in each applicable state.
  • Support the Company’s strong relationship of  “raving fan service” culture through on-going customer contact, quality customer service, and superior product knowledge.
  • Attend and participate in all Company meetings  as required.
  • Adhere to all Federal and State regulations and follow  the code of ethics as outlined by Equity Resources, Inc.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Position Requirements:

Required for this position: attention to detail, advanced organization skills, independent thinking, ability to visualize cause and affect relationships of documents, ability to review and understand federal and state laws, excellent communication skills, high level of accuracy. 


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Finance, Administration,  or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Possession of appropriate state-specific mortgage banking license(s) or ability to pass National Mortgage Licensing Exam and obtain appropriate state-specific mortgage banking licenses within an acceptable timeframe (90 days) while under a Temporary Authority.
  • Minimum of 2 years prior experience in a role entailing customer service and/or sales responsibilities is required, with a preference for prior call experience.
  • Ability to learn, retain, and apply knowledge of conventional and government lending guidelines
  • Ability to learn, retain, and apply knowledge of residential mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing procedures
  • Ability to learn, retain, and apply Knowledge of federal lending regulations governing real estate lending
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer systems and software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required; experience with electronic mortgage processing systems such as Encompass preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills,      particularly conveying good tone and pitch through a pleasant ‘phone voice’, with an energetic personality.
  • Must be comfortable with and enjoy talking all day.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and all outside vendors and lenders.
  • Demonstrated teamwork, customer service, and detailed organizational skills
  • Proven track record in working with all levels of staff and management
  • Ability to read and comprehend complicated instructions, short correspondence, memos and to use good grammar. 
  • Ability to think independently and solve issues and problems without intervention, demonstrating sound judgement.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Self-motivated with strong desire to excel in a competitive environment

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is expected to sit for long periods of time, talk; and hear. The employee must be able to conduct continuous repetitive motion of fingers, wrist, arms, and shoulder is required, along with eye-hand coordination and physical dexterity for operation of office equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. Mental agility is required. OFFICE HOURS: 

To be determined.  Generally, Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to begin.  

Alternate/flexible schedules may be required (i.e.  10a - 7p, 11a - 8p).

Initial training will require office attendance; hybrid or remote schedule available after training period.
