Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the completion of special projects identified by the Credentialing and Enrollment Manager and/or the Credentialing or Enrollment Supervisors.
  • Assist credentialing specialists or enrollment specialists, as assigned, with the credentialing or enrolling of providers during periods of high volume, department moves, add-ons, or when the credentialing or enrollment specialists are absent due to vacation or illness.
  • Serve as quick turnaround specialists and process requests on short notice with responsibility for deciding and communicating the appropriate timeline, processing the file or application, and coordinating with the appropriate stakeholders to ensure the provider goes through all applicable committee processes and/or meets all applicable deadlines.
  • Assists Operations Supervisors in addressing and following up on identified and escalated issues.
  • May be responsible for auditing all of a verification specialists provider files and serving as Quality Control when performance related issues are identified.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and at least 5-years of credentialing or enrollment experience in an acute care hospital, managed care organization, licensing body, and/or credentialing verification organization.
  • A bachelors degree may be substituted in lieu of experience.
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards and state and federal credentialing related regulations and a working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Must have experience with word processing and database managed computer applications.
