Event Manager
Job Description
Digital Catapult is looking for a confident Events Manager, who will be part of the Marcomms Team (Marketing, Communications and Events). The role will involve securing, planning and assisting in delivery of a portfolio of internal and external events.
The Events Manager will set and maintain a consistently high standard for the client and ‘guest experience’ and operational delivery at events taking place at the Centre. The Events Manager will contribute to securing event opportunities both inside and outside Digital Catapult, attracting valuable attendees and partners and will play a key role in shaping content.
WHAT YOU’LL DO (Duties)
- Plan and deliver a portfolio of events (physical, online and hybrid) at and for Digital Catapult, its programmes, clients, and partners
- Ensure that hosted or co-hosted events are relevant to the Digital Catapult and the Events team strategies, making sure they meet the requirements, target audience, objectives and add value
- Manage events execution holistically, ensuring that logistics run seamlessly and resolve any issues arising to ensure high customer satisfaction and/or escalate in a timely manner to the Head of Events (if needed)
- Coordinate the day-to-day running of events, including but not limited to room setup, managing delegate registrations, speakers’ management, catering, overlooking audio-visual delivery, event visuals and materials, client relations, delegates’ engagement and feedback and impact capture and measurement
- Build partner relationships with those using Digital Catapult as a host venue, attendees at our events and external hosts
- Work closely with the Marketing and Communication Teams to promote and communicate about our events efficiently
- Shape and create events materials including speaking pitches, content agendas, presentation slides, briefing documents, as well as legal and financial documents such as events function sheets, POs and events agreements as and when required, following Digital Catapult’s standard operating procedures
- Detail-focused, ideally with an interest in technology and innovation, the successful candidate will be flexible, a fast-learner and a good team player with excellent communication skills
- Capable of managing and delivering multiple events, in different formats, for different audiences, on varying themes and against tight deadlines, using skills gained from an events background
- Be excited to implement processes to better monitor engagement, brand awareness, reputation and impact of events
- Manage stakeholder relationships and communication, providing expert advice, clear briefings, and updates to internal teams and senior leadership.
- Track and analyse event performance, using KPIs and reporting tools to measure impact and drive continuous improvement.
