Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Lab Associate – RF/Electrical to support operations, advanced testing, integration, and prototyping of RF and electrical systems for aerospace and defense applications. This role is critical in ensuring the performance, reliability, and compliance of mission-critical hardware through rigorous lab-based testing and hands-on support. The ideal candidate brings strong RF assembly and test experience, attention to detail, and familiarity with defense-grade components.

Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate RF and microwave test equipment (VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters) for component- and system-level testing
- Support assembly, test, and troubleshooting of high-frequency RF components and communication subsystems
- Assist engineers with integration and validation of radar, satellite, EW (electronic warfare), or secure comms hardware
- Execute test plans and collect data for design validation, environmental compliance, and performance verification
- Interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics
- Perform detailed soldering and rework on MIL-grade components (including connectors, coax, RF shielding)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineering, operations, and quality engineering
- Support test readiness reviews, documentation audits, and technical data package (TDP) development
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, or a related discipline or equivalent experience focused in RF/microwave product development
- 5+ years of experience in RF/electrical test environments, preferably in aerospace or defense
- Proficiency with RF test equipment and familiarity with RF concepts such as return loss, insertion loss, VSWR, and S-parameters
- Hands-on experience with complex assembly, lab instrumentation, soldering/rework, and cable/harness fabrication
- Strong understanding of military standards and AS9100 requirements

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting systems such as radar, SATCOM, EW, avionics, or RF datalinks
- Familiarity with automated test setups and scripting tools (Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB)
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC testing procedures and RF shielding best practices
- Prior experience working in ITAR-controlled environments

Working Environment:
- Hands-on role in a manufacturing environment
- May require use of PPE, working around RF energy sources, and compliance with safety and security protocols
- Occasional lifting (up to 30 lbs) and extended periods at test benches or with microscopes
