Dewberry is currently seeking a Project Manager Designee III to join our Rancho Cordova, CA office. The Project Manager Designee III is responsible for representing the Business Unit (BU) and Project Manager (PM) with accounting and financial matters. While performing these duties the PMD will act as the primary contact with Corporate Accounting and will be held to Dewberry's established accounting standards. The accounting standards will be established, communicated and trained by Corporate Accounting. The PMD is employed by and assigned to the home BU (cost, ePDPs, etc). This will typically be a collateral duty in addition to their normally assigned responsibilities I.E. the PMD will only be held to the accounting standard while performing the PMD duties.

Dewberry offers a comprehensive and very competitive package of insurance programs to regular full-time employees and their eligible dependents the first of the month following their date of hire. Responsibilities
The PMD will coordinate with the Project Accountant (PA), Business Unit Manager (BUM) and PM to ensure accurate and timely reporting of all financial and accounting related matters for the projects (jobs) within their assigned BU or PM. The PMD will assist the PM with accounting and financial matters as they relate to accounting. The PM will be held accountable for the financial performance of their projects.
As requested by the BU or PM and within the accounting standard the PMD will assist with the day-to-day financial management of their assigned projects. This may include job/contract set up, contract verification, invoicing, initiation of adjustments to invoices, sub consultant management, accounts receivable tracking, collections, job close out and any other job specific financial matter. The PMD will be expected to maintain open lines of communication with their primary PA to ensure efficient, timely and quality results.
As trained by Corporate Accounting the PMD will be responsible for assisting with ensuring compliance by their assigned BU with established Dewberry business policy for time entry, expense reporting, travel and all other business processes as necessary or requested by accounting.
Required Skills & Required Experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience required
- Bachelor's degree preferred, with a preference to accounting or equivalent field of study.
- Proven history of maintaining financial and technical data
- Knowledge of business contracts and invoice processing
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, advanced working knowledge of the use and application of ERP business tools and workflows
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, with excellent organizational skills
- Self starter, with demonstrated ability to translate direction, feedback, and strategy into actionable results
- Strong collaboration skills with employees at all levels and from various parts of an organization
- Ability to interpret data and identify issues based on trends

Salary Range
The projected range for this position is $64,000-$80,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
