Meaning, that with people across 20+ countries, we’re big enough to provide you with the best tools, global opportunities, and benefits that help you thrive. While acting small by investing in you, your growth, your team, and giving you the autonomy to solve our clients' problems, no matter where you are in the world.

The Content Strategy Director is an integral part of the DEPT® team, responsible for leading externally and internally. You will also help shape the future of the Strategy discipline, including process, capabilities, and offerings.

While we are seeking candidates with broad experience across different types of work, the role sits at the intersection of content, strategy, and user experience, requiring both creative and analytical thinking to drive meaningful digital experiences.

Ideal candidates will be:

  • Someone who values curiosity, creativity, and the relevant application of those traits to make original work. We want you to help make things that are new and interesting, not just sensible.
  • Able to distill complicated things into simple ideas, and transform simple ideas into inspiring creative and design opportunities.
  • Fluent in culture—what’s happening in the world, why is it happening—and be capable of applying that understanding to the work.
  • Comfortable applying critical analysis to various sources of data and analytics in order to distill meaningful insights for our teams and clients.
  • A natural facilitator of collaboration who’s skilled at building strong, influential relationships with clients at all levels and colleagues across all disciplines.
  • Experienced with content management platforms, analytics tools, and collaborative workflows

What you’ll do:

  • Develop comprehensive content strategies that align with business objectives and user needs across websites, applications, and digital touchpoints
  • Lead content audits, gap analyses, and competitive research to inform strategic decisions
  • Collaborate with data analysts, UX designers, brand strategists, and development teams to ensure content supports optimal user experiences
  • Define and create content standards, voice and tone guidelines, content maps, information architecture, narrative hierarchy, persona messaging, and editorial workflows
  • Create content frameworks, taxonomies, migration plans, and governance models that scale across organizations
  • Oversee content lifecycle management from creation through optimization and retirement
  • Partner with executives and stakeholders to translate business goals into actionable content strategies
  • Establish metrics and KPIs to measure content effectiveness and user engagement
  • Drive content optimization initiatives based on user research, analytics, and testing
  • Build presentations and lead share-outs, check-ins, and presentations to every level of stakeholder from the day-to-day point of contacts all the way up to C-level executives.
  • Work with minimal processes in place, solving problems by being optimistic and using proactive thought processes and skills.
  • Work in Google Suite, Figma, Miro, and various collaboration platforms (e.g. Slack, Teams, Webex, Zoom, etc).

What You'll Bring:

  • 8-10+ years of content strategy, digital marketing, or UX experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field
  • Strong understanding of information architecture, user experience principles, and content management systems
  • Experience with content analytics tools, user research methodologies, and A/B testing
  • Background in leading teams and managing complex, multi-platform content initiatives
