About the role
As a Revenue Accountant at Crunchyroll, you'll help support our growing SVOD (subscription video on demand) business and manage revenue recognition and general ledger activities for multiple payment streams, contributing to accurate financial reporting, and collaborating with teams to coordinate our revenue processes.

- Support the Senior Revenue Accountant in accounting for our subscription revenue stream, and monthly financial close related tasks such as preparation, review and reconciliation of revenue, deferred revenue schedules, and journal entries.
- Contribute to the development of accounting memos, process flows, and documentation to ensure revenue recognition following accounting standards under ASC 606 and company policy.
- Provide insights into important revenue metrics through collaboration with Product owners, Data Analytics, Financial Planning & Analysis, and other internal management partners.
- Help implement process improvements for revenue accounting with the growth of the business.
- Participate in monthly, quarterly and yearly revenue forecast procedures.
This hybrid role requires three days a week in the office and is based in either Los Angeles or Dallas, reporting directly to the Sr. Manager of Accounting.
About You
You have the following experience:
- 3+ years of full cycle accounting experience
- Knowledge of revenue recognition rules and accounting, namely ASC 606/IFRS 15, as well as broad generally accepted accounting principles
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/quarter/year-end close process.
- Excel skills (Lookup Functions, Pivot Tables) and comfort working with large datasets from a variety of sources
About the Team
The Crunchyroll Finance Team is made up of Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Business Intelligence team members based in San Francisco and Los Angeles, with regional finance teams in Tokyo, Japan and Chisinau, Moldova. The Finance Team is a critical service center for Crunchyroll ensuring that the business foundational and company wide initiatives are met. Our team is diverse, technical and a fun group of tech/media fans. The Accounting function is the backbone of Crunchyroll in ensuring that the financials are accurate, whilst acting as a support function across all departments.
