Position Overview

We are seeking a Head of Video Operations to  build out our production, post production and publishing workflows across Web, App, FAST, social and emerging media platforms. This person will  drive forward workflow ease and efficiency on a new MAM platform, optimize cross-platform content distribution, help coordinate programming, lead implementation of AI tools,, and oversee our audience growth team .

The ideal candidate is a dynamic thinker who believes there is always a way to make things better, faster, and smarter. They will bring deep experience in the logistics of digital video production and distribution, a strong command of media technology and data/analytics, and a proven ability to scale systems and teams in a rapidly evolving media environment.

This position reports to our editorial Head of Video and will work closely with our GM of video on the business side. This position is based out of our NYC headquarters, with an expectation to be in the office at least three days a week.

This is a newsroom position, and will be held to strict journalistic standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and streamline end-to-end video operations for all digital platforms, including BI.com, mobile apps, FAST channels, YouTube, and social video extensions.

  • Develop and implement scalable workflows and systems to increase production efficiency, reduce bottlenecks, and accelerate speed-to-publish across platforms.

  • Partner with editorial, product and engineering, to optimize video delivery and performance across all touchpoints.

  • Oversee video asset management, rights and clearance protocols, metadata standards, and CMS integrations to support effective distribution and discoverability

  • Identify and evaluate new tools and technologies that can enhance data visibility and automate workflows including cross-platform video syndication.

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of video professionals, setting clear KPIs and performance goals

  • Track and report on team performance in terms of video output, platform performance, operational metrics.

  • Stay ahead of industry trends in FAST, OTT, and emerging video formats, advising leadership on new opportunities and strategic pivots

Qualifications

  • A passion for journalism and video storytelling.

 

  • Must have proven success managing complex workflows across multiple video platforms, especially FAST and OTT channels

  • Strong understanding of video CMS, MAM, ad tech, transcoding pipelines, and data analytics tools

  • Experience scaling systems and teams in a fast-paced, high-growth, cross-functional setting where things are always changing.

  • Deep knowledge of industry best practices related to video metadata, syndication, monetization, and rights management

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-department collaboration skills

  • A passion for digital video storytelling and a commitment to audience-first innovation

  • 5-10++ years of experience in digital video operations, preferably within a media or publishing environment

Salary & Benefits: 

  • Base salary: $130,000 - $160,000 (dependent on skills, experience, and competencies)
