Job Description
As Hagglunds Sales Engineer, you will manage and be responsible for generating sales across the whole of the Hagglunds product and solutions range (including Bosch Rexroth product range when required). Your working knowledge of ‘Large Hydraulic and/or electro-mechanical drives and effective relationship building will ensure we retain our valuable customers in recycling, materials handling, marine & offshore and general heavy industries whilst also maximising opportunities in all other sectors.
You will be proactive in your approach and take the initiative to develop your technical ability to exploit new commercial opportunities, including in areas that may be new to you.

Key tasks and responsibilities
- Develop and implement a business plan to optimize target and focus customers for the Hagglunds product and solutions range
- Identify and promote opportunities for profitable sales growth of our Hagglunds (and Bosch Rexroth) range of products to both new and existing customers
- Assist in the preparation of detailed quotations and specifications, working with Mellansel (the Swedish) manufacturing plant to ensure customer requirements are met and accurate information is available for system design/drawings, projects and /or order processing
- Liaise between customer, project engineers, manufacturing, and design to ensure clear and open communication is maintained at all times
- Take responsibility for completion, follow up and sales support, including co-ordinating the activities of others to meet customer specifications (eg commissioning)
- Manage multiple customer demands and clearly communicate information B2B, actioning all customer enquiries promptly
- Maintain customer data and record all visit information and customer activities within our mobile CRM system to ensure accurate and relevant information is available
- Work with customers to ensure payment terms are effectively managed, pre-empting non-payment and delivery issues
Depending upon the candidate, this role is likely to be Wakefield or home based but there will be the requirement to regularly travel to St Neots for training and meetings as well as to our other UK sites as required.

Qualifications
Essential
- Minimum of HND level qualification in either Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic Engineering OR significant relevant technical/engineering experience
- Excellent knowledge of Large hydraulic drive systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- High standard of written and spoken English
- MS Office skills
- Must be able to effectively use CRM systems and SAP or similar integrated systems
- Must be able to travel in and around your designated sales territory to visit customers
- Must be prepared to travel and stay overnight on a regular basis
- Must be prepared to travel abroad from time to time as required
- Valid UK driving licence
- Proven track record of sales excellence
Desirable:
- Previous experience of sales in the industry/sector
- Previous technical experience in the industry/sector
- Knowledge in drives and controls
