OUR PHILOSOPHY

We are champions of our investors’ goals and stewards of founders’ dreams, but more than that, we are ethical, honest partners who serve, educate, and protect our founders and investors. We take on the challenges and complex conversations because we operate out of integrity and genuine care.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a dynamic, experienced Product Owner to join our team and drive the successful development of BIP’s innovative technology products. This role is critical to the firm’s continued growth and strategic execution. As a Product Owner, you will work at the intersection of technology, business, and user experience—playing a hands-on role in shaping the solutions that power our business.

As a Product Owner at BIP, you will own the product backlog and collaborate closely with the Engineering and cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality, user-centric features. We’re looking for someone who is not only technically savvy but also confident, curious, and unafraid to ask the hard questions. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, confidently engages with a wide range of personalities, and embraces feedback—even when it’s challenging. You’re not afraid to ask questions, take initiative, or admit when you're wrong. You bring curiosity, resilience, and a collaborative spirit to every interaction, always focused on driving the product and team forward. This is a fantastic opportunity for a friendly, self-motivated individual who brings strong emotional intelligence and a proactive mindset to their work. If you're eager to grow as a product leader, contribute meaningfully to a forward-thinking company, and thrive in a collaborative environment, we’d love to hear from you.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Backlog Ownership: Maintain and prioritize the product backlog to ensure the team is always focused on delivering the highest value.
  • User Story Development: Write and refine clear, concise user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria; ensure the team understands what needs to be built and why.
  • Sprint Planning & Readiness: Lead grooming and sprint planning sessions; ensure the backlog is always 2–3 sprints ahead with “ready” work.
  • Team Collaboration: Remain accessible throughout sprints to clarify stories, remove blockers, and keep the team moving forward.
  • Feature Validation: Conduct thorough acceptance testing and quality assurance on each user story to ensure features meet requirements and are free of critical defects.
  • Cross-Functional Communication: Serve as the key liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders; help align priorities and manage expectations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate and deliver sprint; gather feedback to continuously refine the product.
  • User-Centric Thinking: Champion the user experience and advocate for functionality that improves user satisfaction and engagement.
  • Problem Solving: Collaborate across teams to analyze bugs, investigate issues, and identify creative solutions.
  • Documentation: Support the creation of process flows, user guides, and internal documentation as needed.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience: 3 to 5 years’ prior experience in product development or working within Agile/Scrum teams. Ideal candidates have a track record of contributing to successful product delivery in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex topics and speak confidently with developers, stakeholders, and executives.
  • People Skills: Friendly, outgoing, and emotionally intelligent. You build positive relationships easily, adapt to various personalities, and are comfortable handling challenging conversations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Self-Starter Mentality: Proactive and driven. You take initiative without waiting to be asked and are comfortable operating independently while staying aligned with team goals.
  • Resilience: Comfortable being wrong, open to feedback, and quick to adapt when priorities shift. You’re confident enough to ask questions and persistent enough to keep moving forward.
  • Technical Acumen: Familiarity with the software development lifecycle. Experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Able to gather and interpret data to inform product decisions and continuous improvement.
  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or a related field is preferred—but equivalent work experience is welcomed.

SUCCESS METRICS

  • At 90 Days: Demonstrate foundational knowledge of the Jarvis platform, internal systems, and workflows across investment, finance, and engineering teams. Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders and establish credibility by triaging internal service desk requests, contributing to sprint ceremonies, and writing clear user stories. Deliver at least one small or medium project and maintain a backlog with 5+ groomed tickets.
  • At Six Months: Independently lead sprint ceremonies and manage the backlog 2–3 sprints ahead. Own 2–4 active medium or large projects, and consistently deliver quality features or fixes from requirements to release. Proactively gather stakeholder feedback, drive service desk resolution within 3 business days for 90% of requests, and ensure accurate Jira documentation.
  • At One Year: Own a major Jarvis product vertical or workflow and deliver a high-value, cross-functional project from ideation to deployment. Lead service desk operations, reducing response times by 25% through process improvements. Become a go-to platform expert, create internal documentation, and contribute strategic insights that improve platform adoption, stakeholder satisfaction, and business outcomes.
