About the Role
Our Consulting team in Brisbane is seeking individuals from Senior Manager level to Director level to join our team with a focus on delivering Digital Strategy, Technology Modernisation and broader Strategy and Transformation engagements.
BDO’s Digital Strategy and Technology Modernisation team is part of BDO’s wider Consulting function and consists of complimentary digital and transformation service lines such as Cyber Security, Data & AI, Strategy & Transformation, People Advisory and Sustainability. Frequently, these service lines collaborate on engagement delivery to our clients.
Our Digital Strategy and Technology Modernisation service line provides tailored services to clients across Government, Private and Not-for-Profit sectors, regarding:
Digital and ICT strategies
Digital and ICT business cases
Strategic procurement
Current state and technology risk assessments
Process mapping, requirements gathering, future state design and transition planning
Legacy technology transition
CIO/CDO/CTO advisory
IT Program and Project Management, Agile Delivery methods
Technology Operating Model design
Dayforce implementations.
The role requires experience and awareness of broad digital services such as cyber security, data analytics, information management, plus wider strategic and change management frameworks.
Key responsibilities will include:
Lead and provide strategic advice on digital transformation, technology implementation, innovation strategies, technology risk, and technology uplift tailored to client needs
Deliver assessments of clients’ current technology landscapes and recommend solutions
Lead and manage engagement teams, ensuring timely delivery of projects within scope and budget
Foster and develop client relationships, ensuring high-quality service delivery and satisfaction
Working closely with senior leaders to develop and execute business growth through business development activity, proposal development, scoping, estimating, and budgeting
Lead and coach junior team members and client staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
Provide informed recommendations to clients using in-depth knowledge on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices
Develop and pursue go-to-market activities across key strategic focus areas
Contribute to Consulting and wider Advisory leadership and direction.
A key requirement of successful applicants for this role will be to lead and deliver client engagements, build team performance and capability at both an individual and team level and actively support Consulting Partners in client delivery, business development, and operation of the team.
You should be comfortable regularly developing bespoke and tailored approaches and solutions to meet our clients’ needs backed by your technical and career experience.
You will need excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including executive report writing and the ability to deliver ad-hoc and formal presentations to internal, client, and executive stakeholders.
As a Senior Manager you would have:
7-10 years of experience in technology consulting in a professional services firm
A market profile and digital specialisations in development from a broad base of experience
Experience working as a senior team member and engagement team member guiding resources to deliver on agreed engagement or other outcomes.
As a Director you would have:
10+ years of experience in technology consulting in a professional services firm
A demonstrated ability to develop, win, and deliver client engagements across the technology landscape
Strong leadership skills to guide and mentor junior team members and client staff, fostering a collaborative, highly engaged and high-performance culture.
About You
We are looking for highly motivated individuals with strong experience in Digital and Technology Consulting that is focused on delivering successful client engagements and outcomes.
Previous professional services experience in technology consulting is required.
You will be able to demonstrate significant depth of skills and experience in relation to technology lifecycle as well as consulting engagement delivery (business development, analysis and engagement solution delivery, project management, reporting, presenting, engaging with clients at all levels, and engagement management).
You excel at managing diverse client, business, and internal demands simultaneously to achieve successful outcomes. You create a collaborative and team-orientated working environment that is responsive and tailored to client and staff needs, demonstrating strong leadership. While remote work is supported, in-office attendance is encouraged by our team to foster better collaboration, culture and team synergy.
You will be a process orientated professional both able to support our existing processes and help continually improve them.
University, technology qualifications and certifications are valued along with project management certification (e.g. PRINCE2 or similar).
