Job Description
Mō te tūranga | About the role
We’re looking for a creative and passionate landscape designer to help shape beautiful, functional outdoor spaces across our Arvida communities. From concept to implementation, your work will uplift the daily lives of our residents across Aotearoa.
The role is Auckland-based, mostly in our lovely central Support Office, with some remote working, and will occasionally require some travel around the country to visit our Arvida communities.
You’ll work on a range of projects: from designing clubhouse gardens, apartment surrounds, and community veggie gardens in our new developments, to upgrading and enhancing green spaces in our existing villages.
The design work largely involves our greenfield developments, where you will work alongside our development team and collaborate with landscape architects and contractors. These types of projects usually include features such as the clubhouse gardens, community vegetable gardens, apartment and care centre gardens, common areas, and our villa gardens. You will also design for smaller projects around our established communities, continuing to develop key gardens as required.
Qualifications

- Strength and competence in a similar role. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Currently studying or recently graduated in landscape design or architecture
- Strong gardening knowledge and appreciation for the practicalities of maintaining plantings
- Proficiency in intranet advantageous
- Solid plant knowledge with an understanding of regional growing conditions
- Proficiency with design tools like Vectorworks and SketchUp
- Ability to produce concept plans, planting plans, and manage implementation
- Collaborative mindset – you’ll work closely with our development team, landscape architects, and contractors
