Job Description
We are seeking a Engineering / Technical Manager to lead, develop, and drive the engineering team to improve process reliability, technology advancement, and support improvement projects for our Labels and Packaging manufacturing facility in Peachtree City, GA. With mentorship and leadership from the Plant Manager, you will lead a team of process engineers to improve the manufacturing processes to drive step change improvements in product quality and site productivity.
Your primary responsibilities and essential functions of this position include:
Safety: Promote safety as the most important value in the organization by contributing through training, project management and other EHS responsibilities.
Process Safety Management: Lead for applicable Management of Change and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews systems. Drive improvement in these processes.
Collaborate with other plants/divisions to identify and implement operational and technical standard methodologies.
Ensure that all manufacturing equipment has established standard operating conditions (process settings/recipes) for each product or product family, to optimize product quality and productivity.
Run/control cost center and capital project portfolio to achieve targeted results.
Apply rigorous observation and analytical tools to identify and execute projects focused on safety, quality, operating cost, efficiency, and fulfillment of customer expectations.
Facilitate/collaborate with other functions to ensure project objectives are aligned with division and plant objectives.
Assess, select, and handle external contractors for project and service requirements.
Member of plant leadership team with leadership responsibilities both within primary function and beyond.
Actively participate in monthly Process Linkage meetings across sites to share best practices and solicit help from the North American technical network.
Provide training, leadership, performance planning, and feedback to develop direct reports and others.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering field.
10+ years experience in plant operation/engineering.
Experience with process safety management.
Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems (including automation control, AC and DC drives, mechanical drives and systems, PLCs, sensors, and motor controls) and facilities systems.
Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to influence and motivate others to excel.
Validated ability to prioritize projects concurrently in a dynamic factory environment.
Ability to work with others in a team environment. Actively promote collaboration & teamwork and resolve conflicts.
Strong organization and computer skills - Google, Lotus Notes, MINITAB, AutoCAD, Agility Core, Rockwell RS software.
Preferred:
Master's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering or related field.
5+ years of experience in leadership roles.
Understanding of Six Sigma or Lean Methodologies (Blackbelt/Greenbelt).
