What You’ll Do

Join Authentic as Counsel – Events, Production & Licensing and play a key role in shaping the legal framework behind high-profile live events and entertainment experiences (e.g., music festivals, sports events, or branded experiences). Reporting to the SVP, Associate General Counsel of Entertainment, this dynamic position offers the opportunity to draft, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of commercial agreements across live event production, sponsorships, venues, talent, content, and licensing. Ideal candidates will bring 3–5 years of legal experience, strong transactional skills, and a passion for the fast-paced world of entertainment and live experiences.

The ideal candidate has live event and licensing transactional experience at a top law firm and/or in-house entertainment or location-based event company. The role will be in our New York City Headquarters, five-days a week.

What You’ll Be Working On 

Contract Drafting & Negotiation

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements related to:
    • Live event production, operations, and logistics
    • Sponsorships, venues, and talent (e.g., DJs, influencers)
    • Social media and content production
    • Consumer products licensing, endorsements and marketing
    • Vendor, transportation and contractor agreements
    • Releases and waivers

Legal Advisory & Risk Management

  • Provide real-time legal counsel to internal business units and senior leadership
  • Interpret and advise on contract terms, enforcement, and risk mitigation (insurance requirements)
  • Support other in-house attorneys on entertainment-related projects as needed

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with business, brand, and finance teams to support deal development
  • Coordinate with international legal colleagues to ensure global alignment

Policy & Process Development

  • Help implement and refine contract administration and document management processes
  • Contribute to legal team best practices and operational efficiency

Must Haves: 

  • 3-5 years of experience at a leading law firm and/or in-house legal department in a reputable learning environment
  • Strong background in live events, content production contracts and sponsorship-related contracts preferred
  • Strong drafting and negotiating skills
  • Outstanding written and oral business communication skills
  • Deep experience with commercial transactions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; flexibility and effective time management skills to balance multiple priorities, possibly working at odd-hours for critical issues

 

Primary Location Salary Range: $145,000 - $175,000
