Job Description

The Opportunity: 

The Director of Enterprise Architecture and Integration is a strategic leader responsible for defining, governing, and advancing the organization's technology landscape. This role oversees both the Enterprise Architecture Team and the Enterprise Integrations Team, ensuring that architectural frameworks support business strategy and IT capabilities. This leader will provide visionary leadership to drive a cohesive and optimized enterprise architecturesolution architecture, and domain architecture for Mattel.  

This leader will have excellent domain experience in these areas, as well as a proven success record of delivering business value and organizational transformation in a matrixed IT environment with reliance on offshore delivery partners and global teams.  They will bring a wealth of experience in developing and delivering modern technology solutions, excellent vendor management skills, and have a proven track record of modernizing and transforming technology capabilities aligned to business process transformation. Experience leading enterprise architecture in the consumer product goods (CPG) industry is highly preferred.

This position will be a key member of the Global Technology Organization’s leadership team. This leader is a key contributor to the development and execution of the enterprise-wide IT strategy, while maintaining its alignment with the enterprise's business strategy and the delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success.

This position will be located in El Segundo, CA. 10% travel is expected.

What Your Impact Will Be: 

Enterprise Architecture Leadership

  • Define and implement architecture governance processes to drive structured decision-making and risk mitigation.
  • Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture framework that will best support Mattel’s corporate goals, speed to delivery, and operational excellence.
  • Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture roadmap, ensuring it aligns with business objectives, IT capabilities, and organization goals of simplification and consolidation.
  • Establish and enforce technology standards and guidelines, fostering consistency and scalability across systems.
  • Manage and grow a cross-functional enterprise architectural team with expertise in corporate systems, digital and marketing systems, end to end supply chain systems, and security and compliance capabilities.
  • Lead the Enterprise Architecture team in project work operating in both Hybrid and SAFe Agile methodologies.
  • Drive the strategic development and go-to-market architectures of innovative platforms, applications, and solutions that accelerate product creation, enhance customer engagement, and optimize market penetration.
  • Lead product selection using an established methodology bringing together multiple cross-functional business and technology stakeholders resulting in product and platform alignment.
  • Serve as both the player and coach based on the need, with the ability and willingness to not only manage and mentor a team but to also generate enterprise architecture deliverables such as roadmaps and high-level designs.
  • Strategic ability to present and align architectural vision internally to GTO and externally at with business senior leadership.
  • Serve as the architectural leader for the Oracle Cloud ERP transformation within the Global Supply Chain domain.
  • Identify viable emerging technologies that enhance the company's competitive edge in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry.

Solution & Domain Architecture Excellence

  • Ensure solution architecture optimally supports enterprise integration, scalability, and performance.
  • Oversee domain architecture development, ensuring modular, reusable, and cohesive technology components across business functions.
  • Drive interoperability across core systems, including ERP, CRM, PLM, MDM, PIM, EQMS, Supply Chain and Digital platforms.
  • Guide the architectural vision for the modernization of PLM and Digital Product Creation (DPC) platforms to support 3D design, virtual prototyping, and AI-driven supplier and material selection to optimize quality and cost.
  • Provide a structured framework to assess the current IT landscape, design the future state with the new Oracle Cloud ERP system, and guide the transformation process aligned with industry best practices.
  • Drive innovation and forward thinking in new business segments such as E-commerce, Mobile gaming, Digital Marketing and personalization technologies

Enterprise Integrations & Data Strategy

  • Foster and grow the Enterprise Integrations Team to develop robust API strategies and seamless data exchange solutions.
  • Foster a microservices-based approach to improve agility and adaptability in IT solutions.
  • Ensure a focus on speed-to-delivery, quality, flexibility, reliability, and cost efficiency in the integrations strategy and implementation.

Strategic Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to define and prioritize technology initiatives that drive innovation and efficiency.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, aligning IT investments with long-term business goals.
  • Champion cross-functional collaboration between business units, IT teams, and external partners.

Domain Experience

  • This is a cross-functional Enterprise Architecture role ideal candidate must have experience in multiple domains.
  • Experience implementing practices in multiple domains and in-depth expertise in more than one. Product Life Cycle Management, Quality, E-commerce, B2B, ERP, Logistics, Manufacturing, Finance.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, IT strategy, or solution architecture, preferably in the CPG industry.
  • Expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.).
  • Strong background in integration technologies, APIs, microservices, and cloud-based architectures.
  • Experience in leading and managing change within the organization, driving technology-enabled business transformations is required.
  • Proven track record leading ERP transformations, preferably in the global consumer product goods (CPG) industry using Oracle Cloud.
  • Possesses a positive and proactive leadership style, with a strong executive presence.
  • Proven ability to lead outstanding teams, manage complex IT ecosystems, and drive transformation.
  • Strategic thinker with strong leadership and execution capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to balance deep technical expertise with a strong business acumen.
  • Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture and solution architecture concepts and best practices
  • Knowledge of enterprise integration concepts and best practice preferred
  • Ability to abstract complex business and technical concepts and summarize them for various stakeholder groups, including the ability to explain digital concepts and technologies to business leaders as well as business concepts to technologists; the ability to sell ideas and process internally at all levels.

The annual base salary range for this position is between $195,000 and $235,000
