Engineering Manager, watchOS System UI

The watchOS System Spaces group is seeking an energetic and ambitious software engineering manager to lead a team of highly skilled and experienced engineers in the delivery of the core user interfaces of watchOS. The System UI team is at the center of the Apple Watch platform. It is responsible for the “look and feel” of watchOS and the SwiftUI APIs that make it possible to build unique, fluid, and fun experiences. The team plays a big role in bringing many watchOS features to life with each new release. Are you ready to be in the middle of the action?

The position requires strong communication and problem-solving skills as well as an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. The ability to work as a teammate is significant, as this hands-on position requires multi-functional collaboration with engineers and leaders across domains. Experience leading a software development team, as well as a consistent track record of bringing products to market, is critical to this role.

Minimum Qualifications

10+ years of experience in software engineering 5+ years of experience in management Experience building and leading a team of junior and senior engineers Deep technical understanding and hands-on experience with software development Solid computer science fundamentals Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience defining and driving application or UI framework architecture Ability to work with partners at all levels of the stack, including design and marketing Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
