Founding Design Engineer - VC-backed Startup

The Role

We’re hiring a founding Design Engineer to lead the development of intuitive, powerful interfaces that unlock the full potential of our LLM infrastructure platform. This role sits at the intersection of product design and front-end engineering. You’ll own our open-source UI, which acts as the command center for managing the entire platform — imagine an AWS Console, but purpose-built for machine learning workflows like observability, fine-tuning, and evaluation.

Most of your work will be public and open-source. You’ll have the opportunity to deepen your current design skillset while expanding into new areas like ML, distributed systems, or backend infrastructure, depending on your interests.

What We’re Looking For

• Design + code fluency — You take ideas from Figma to production with ease. You’re just as comfortable prototyping flows as you are writing clean, modular React code.

• Product thinking — You obsess over UX, information hierarchy, and developer ergonomics.

• Craftsmanship — You care about the details and want your interfaces to feel beautiful and fast.

• Bias to build — You’re energized by shipping and iterating, not by perfect specs.
