We are seeking an Independent Board Member for our company, Fieldist. Fieldist has developed a voice-activated field sales enablement platform and is starting with the Agri-Food industry as its first target market. Fieldist helps field sales reps do their daily sales activities more easily, conveniently, and effectively. Their product, Fieldist Scribe, leverages Generative AI to enable sales reps to do a better job taking care of their customers; it’s like having a personal executive assistant on speed dial 24/7. Scribe is not a CRM, it’s a sales enablement tool designed for and by field sales reps that can sit alongside or on top of a corporate CRM. For Sales Management, Scribe facilitates the capture of tacit customer information, minimizing the impact of lost data and relationships during employee turnover. Fieldist brings together several existing technology components in a unique and integrated way to empower field Sales Reps while simultaneously capturing key tacit information.

As an independent board member, you’ll work closely with the founders and Alloy Partners teams, who have seen exponential growth across a variety of SaaS platforms in multiple industries.

As a key member of Fieldist’s three-person board, you will be expected to attend all board meetings, engage with the founders and other board directors, and actively contribute and vote on important matters as needed. As the founders work to bring their product to market, you will use your network to make introductions to potential customers and investors and help to build conviction in the market. You will use your network and position in the market to support the founders with their go-to-market strategy and customer acquisition.

What You'll Do:

  • Serve as an independent board member and help the founding team to shape corporate strategy and company vision while building conviction in the market, with investors, and customers
  • Ensure the founders are implementing scalable and efficient strategies to ensure consistent results and exponential growth
  • Ensure the founders are aligning resources to achieve key business goals and milestones 
  • Review the operational budget and financials, and provide guidance to ensure the founders are effectively managing burn rate and runway
  • Assist with creating and executing a fundraising strategy to drive interest from outside VC investors
  • Provide feedback and ultimately approve a hiring plan to bring on world-class talent 
  • Provide guidance and strategic feedback on all functional areas, including business development, product, marketing & content, operations, and finance.
  • Work with the founders to cultivate relationships and introductions across EMS, mobile health, and government customers
  • Experience serving as a board member for a public or private for-profit organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in an executive, founder, or advisor role in an early-stage technology company. 
  • Experience as a field sales representative and as a sales team leader, with an understanding of the challenges and best practices involved in adopting new technology across a sales organization.
  • Understanding of sales technology tools and AI-driven solutions.
  • Deep empathy and a passion for solving problems facing field sales professionals and sales management teams.
  • The ability to serve not only as a board member but also as a mentor and advisor to the founders.
  • Venture capital fundraising experience with connections to relevant investors is preferred 
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with an understanding of what it takes to scale a company from scratch.
