The Flex GSOC Operator serves as a highly adaptable and operationally ready security professional who supports the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) on a flexible, as-needed basis. This role is designed to ensure seamless GSOC coverage during staffing gaps, surges in activity, or high-risk operational periods. The Flex Operator must be proficient in a wide range of security platforms and communication tools to maintain situational awareness, coordinate responses, and protect personnel, assets, and operations globally. Flex Operators are expected to be platform-agnostic and rapidly adaptable to various technologies and site-specific procedures, often working with security systems such as access control, video surveillance, travel tracking, mass notification, and intelligence platforms, including those similar to Everbridge, Smartsheet, Factal, and others. Key Responsibilities

 

Monitoring & Threat Intelligence:• Monitor global intelligence platforms and real-time alerting systems (e.g., Factal, or similar) for natural disasters, geopolitical instability, criminal activity, and other risk indicators that may impact personnel or operations.• Maintain awareness of employee travel and safety through systems such as International SOS (ISOS) or equivalent travel risk management tools.• Provide written and verbal briefings to stakeholders on developing threats, with contextual risk analysis and recommendations. Incident Response & Documentation:• React promptly to alarms, emergencies, and service requests using established GSOC SOPs.• Launch and manage mass notifications through platforms such as Everbridge, or similar emergency communications systems.• Log incidents, activities, and events in real-time using systems like OmniGo, or equivalent incident management software.• Maintain situational logs, event trackers, and shift pass-downs using tools such as Smartsheet, Excel, or similar collaboration platforms. System Operations & Oversight:• Monitor and manage access control and video surveillance systems (e.g., C-Cure, Lenel, Genetec, ExacqVision, or comparable platforms).• Verify visitor access and monitor guest entries through Envoy or similar visitor management systems.• Use the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word) to support reporting, interdepartmental coordination, and shift communications. Flexible Operations Support:• Provide coverage across various shifts and GSOC roles as needed, including holidays, weekends, and short-notice assignments.• Integrate into unfamiliar systems or environments with minimal ramp-up time, using training, documentation, and support from the GSOC leadership team.• Maintain operational proficiency across multiple GSOC desks and platforms to ensure full-service continuity when deployed. Customer Service & Stakeholder Engagement:• Respond professionally and promptly to calls, emails, and requests from internal employees, field teams, executives, and external partners.• Provide support to other departments (HR, Legal, Facilities, IT, etc.) by retrieving access reports, CCTV footage, or incident summaries when authorized. Required Qualifications:

• Must have minimum 2 years of Security experience.• Operational proficiency with, or the ability to quickly learn, platforms such as:o Mass Notification Systems o Threat Intelligence Feeds o Travel Risk Management Tools o Incident Management Systems o Access Control/Video Surveillance o Visitor Management Systems o Collaboration & Tracking Tools o Microsoft Office Suite • Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially for incident reporting and brief writing.

• Ability to stay calm and think critically under pressure during dynamic or emergency situations.• Willingness and availability to work irregular shifts, cover holidays, and adjust to rapidly changing schedules.• Must be eligible to obtain any required security licenses, clearances, or credentials per state/local requirements. Preferred Competencies:• Familiarity with GSOC SOPs, escalation matrices, and incident classification.• Knowledge of global security risks, including natural disasters, political unrest, and cyber/physical threats.• Experience working with sensitive data and maintaining strict confidentiality protocols.• Ability to work independently and as part of a dispersed, hybrid, or rotational team. Work Environment:• Must be comfortable working in a 24/7/365 operations center environment.• Role may require long periods of seated monitoring and continuous screen time.• Flexibility in shift scheduling is required, including potential on-call or extended-hour coverage during major events. Career Growth:High-performing Flex GSOC Operators are eligible for advancement into permanent GSOC Operator, Lead Operator, GSOC Supervisor, or specialized roles in intelligence, investigations, or corporate security technology programs.
