POSITION SUMMARY:
The Benefits Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring adherence to regulatory standards related to benefits compliance, including ACA, ERISA SPD Wrap, Nondiscrimination Testing, Form 5500, and Section 125 documentation. This role involves analyzing benefits plans, conducting regulatory research, managing compliance projects, and collaborating with internal teams and clients to deliver high-quality compliance solutions.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (Core Competencies)
Benefits Plan Analysis:
Collect and analyze benefits plan documentation to ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Prepare accurate and comprehensive reports to support findings (Intermediate).
Regulatory Research and Updates:
Conduct research on regulations, staying current on changes by reviewing bulletins and other resources. Communicate key updates to stakeholders and provide recommendations for compliance strategies (Advanced).
Project Management:
Oversee multiple compliance projects, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on schedule. Manage timelines, resources, and project deliverables to maintain quality and efficiency (Advanced).
Data Management and Reporting:
Validate and extract data for focused analyses, and develop reports to communicate insights effectively. Ensure data integrity and accuracy throughout all reporting processes (Intermediate).
Client Interaction and Communication:
Engage with clients to provide timely and relevant compliance updates. Prepare

Interpersonal Communication:
Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse roles within the organization and build rapport with clients (Advanced).
Analytical and Critical Thinking:
Proficient in data analysis and critical thinking, with a proactive approach to identifying and solving complex problems (Advanced).
Attention to Detail:
Highly detail-oriented, ensuring accuracy in data validation, reporting, and compliance documentation (Advanced).
Data Management:
Ability to manage and analyze large sets of data, and present findings in a clear and understandable manner (Intermediate).
Regulatory Knowledge (Preferred):
Familiarity with MHPAEA, ERISA, ACA, Section 125, and other compliance regulations is highly beneficial (Intermediate).
Time Management and Multitasking:
Strong ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment (Intermediate).
Technology Proficiency:
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with data analysis tools and the ability to adapt to new technologies quickly (Intermediate).
Problem-Solving Skills:
Effective in diagnosing issues and working independently or collaboratively to develop solutions (Intermediate).
Client-Focused:
Commitment to delivering high-quality service and maintaining client satisfaction through excellent communication and support (Advanced).
Adaptability:

Travel:
Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%, as needed, for client meetings or corporate events.
CREDENTIALS & EXPERIENCE:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience:
1-3 years of professional experience in a customer-facing role, with a focus on benefits compliance or a related field (Intermediate).
Preferred Experience:
Practical experience or familiarity with MHPAEA, ERISA, ACA, and Section 125 compliance regulations.
The pay range for this position is between $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 with bonus potential.
