Allergan Aesthetics | An AbbVie Company
Job Description
Allergan Aesthetics Tech is on a mission to transform the Allergan Aesthetics beauty business at AbbVie – one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies. Its iconic brands include BOTOX® Cosmetic, CoolSculpting®, and JUVÉDERM®, among others. The medical aesthetics business is ripe for rapid growth and disruption, and the team seeks an experienced Lead Product Manager to help drive this innovation. The company successfully launched a new technology platform, Allē, serving millions of consumers and tens of thousands of providers since its November 2020 debut. As Allergan Aesthetics Tech prepares to launch new game-changing technologies on this platform, the Senior Product Manager role is critical – ideal for someone who thrives in a startup-oriented environment backed by a large company. In this role, the Lead Product Manager will report to the Director of Product and collaborate with key stakeholders across the business to solve important technical problems.
Qualifications
Responsibilities (You Will): As the Lead Product Manager, you will take on a leadership role in product development. Key responsibilities include:
- Lead Platform Development: Oversee the development of cohesive, complex platform services and solutions that span multiple teams and external groups.
- Drive Multi-Team Initiatives: Guide complex product initiatives involving multiple teams to deliver optimal solutions.
- Facilitate Concept Exploration: Lead explorations of high-ambiguity, high-complexity concepts, working across teams to form a coherent approach.
- Customer-Centric Prioritization: Serve as the subject matter expert on customer “jobs-to-be-done” and translate that insight into prioritized product tasks and organization.
- Strategic Alignment: Grasp the larger company strategy and help shape product strategy in ambiguous, high-impact areas across teams. Ensure product roadmaps for large, complex products (involving multiple teams) align with strategic objectives.
- Solution Articulation: Clearly articulate how proposed solutions align with business objectives and present tradeoffs between alternatives, in a manner that instills confidence in leadership and in the product function.
- Roadmapping: Develop comprehensive product roadmaps based on company OKRs and strategic goals. Own the roadmap for significant product areas, ensuring it stays in line with strategy and objectives.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Develop relationships with key customers and partners to create feedback loops and build empathy for user needs.
- Market Analysis: Conduct industry and competitive analyses to understand emerging trends in aesthetics and identify new opportunities.
- Specification & Delivery: Develop strong feature specs, user stories, and ensure clear documentation for product initiatives. Monitor and report on product KPIs to track success.
- Feedback & Testing: Lead the gathering of product feedback (surveys, interviews, concept tests, analytics, A/B testing) and iterate accordingly. Continue to be the voice of the customer in defining innovative solutions to meet consumer and business needs.
Required Experience & Skills: Candidates for Lead Product Manager are expected to bring a robust set of experiences and skills:
- Product & Industry Experience: Proven experience building SaaS products or enterprise solutions for businesses. A track record (8+ years) of bringing products to life that have delivered strong, quantifiable ROI was required.
- Technical & UX Aptitude: Technically adept with a passion for great design and usability. Able to deeply understand and drive discussions on product analytics and user experience. Familiarity with product analytics and marketing tools (e.g., Google Tag Manager, Mixpanel) would be beneficial (implied by job context).
- Analytical & Strategic Skills: Skilled at extracting insights from user data, research, and market trends to inform product decisions. Capable of both quantitative and qualitative analysis to support strategy.
- Leadership & Organization: Deep experience in organizing and leading cross-functional teams (engineers, designers, vendors) toward common product objectives. Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple initiatives, and drive projects to completion.
- Communication & Vision: Excellent communication skills with the ability to inspire and influence stakeholders. Able to articulate a clear product vision and rally teams around it, ensuring everyone understands the direction and their role in execution.
