Job Summary:

We need a battle-hardened Industrial Facility Maintenance Manager to keep our 24/7,

365-day defense manufacturing fortress operational. You’ll lead from the front, forging a

high-performing maintenance team from the ground up in a start-up environment. With

hands-on grit, you’ll oversee building and utility systems, specialized equipment

(metalworking, welding, casting, forging, machining, painting, chemical processing), and

emergency breakdowns. Wielding a Computerized Maintenance Management System

(CMMS) like a weapon, you’ll ensure precision, safety, and relentless uptime under ISO

9001 standards in a high-stakes, sovereign factory system.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fortify Operations: Develop and execute a robust maintenance strategy (preventive, condition-based, and predictive maintenance) to guarantee zero downtime in a 24/7, 365-day defense manufacturing facility.

• Command Equipment Readiness: Oversee maintenance of critical systems and specialized equipment for metalworking, welding, casting, forging, machining, painting, and chemical processing, ensuring mission-critical performance.

• Lead with Grit: Demonstrate hands-on leadership, diving into troubleshooting, repairs, and process improvements alongside your team to maintain operational dominance.

• Build a Battle-Ready Team: Recruit, train, and grow a large maintenance

  department from scratch, fostering a culture of adaptability, technical excellence, and

  accountability in a start-up environment.

• Lock in Emergency Response: Establish and lead a 24/7 emergency breakdown response plan, ensuring rapid resolution and maintaining a stockpile of critical spare parts.

• Master Resource Control: Create and manage maintenance budgets, optimizing costs for repairs, spare parts, and upgrades while supporting lean start-up operations.

• Dominate Record Keeping: Maintain ironclad records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and failure history using a CMMS to drive data-driven decisions and scalability.

• Enforce Safety and Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities meet ISO 9001 and safety regulations, conducting audits and training staff to handle high-risk processes like chemical processing and welding.

• Drive Relentless Improvement: Leverage condition-based maintenance data (e.g., sensors, IoT) to predict failures, extend asset life, and integrate cutting-edge technologies for operational superiority.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering, or related field.

• Experience: 7+ years in industrial maintenance management, with proven expertise in metalworking, chemical processing, or similar high-stakes environments; experience in ISO 9001 settings; demonstrated success in team-building from the ground up.

• Technical Skills: Mastery of CMMS platforms; expertise in preventive, condition-based, and predictive maintenance; deep knowledge of industrial equipment (welding, forging, machining, etc.).

• Leadership/Work Style: Hands-on, “in the trenches” leadership with a start-up mindset; thrives under pressure and tight deadlines; proven ability to recruit, train, and scale a large team.

• Soft Skills: Razor-sharp problem-solver; collaborative yet decisive; precision-driven with a focus on mission success.

• Physical Requirements: Ready to stand, lift (up to 50 lbs), and lead on the shop floor in a high-intensity environment.
