Summary of Job Duties:
The primary responsibility of the PSC is to appropriately manage patient information and to provide support in regards to the maintenance and retrieval of patient heath information and all related documents that are scanned and processed into the Legal Health Record. This position will also process all retrieved patient documents into the LHR in an accurate and timely manner, supporting admission services and care provided to patients; meet or exceed productivity and quality standards; and accept additional responsibilities as required based on the needs of the department.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED PLUS 3 years of administrative experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of medical records experience.
Additional Information:
- The PSC must utilize critical thinking skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and familiarity with the electronic medical record to appropriately name and index documents, maintaining records within the correct folder.
- Provide all support necessary for patient information accuracy and timely availability in Health Information Management and other departments and clinical areas.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
