TRD is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Manager, Simulator Development.
Key Responsibilities:
Have a deep understanding of different simulator typologies and define the route for the future development of TRD simulators.
Be the main point of contact with the teams relative to simulator topics.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to a group of highly skilled engineers.
Manage projects relative to the engineering, build and commissioning of new simulators:
Collect requirement and specification from the teams and involve them in every step of the project.
Analyze state of the art solutions on the market and define simulator specifications to match and go over the team expectations.
Contact with suppliers and definition of the project requirements.
Management of the project with clear identification of project tasks, project plan, risk analysis.
Project follow up handling external supplier, internal resources and facility activities. Immediate reaction and communication if any delay/problem occurs.
Commission and handover the system to the Simulation operation group with comprehensive documentation.
Manage the activities relative to continuous improvements of existing simulators.
Collaborate with Simulation group and coordinate Model integration activities.
Collaborate with Simulator operation group to support daily operation and debugging activities, maintenance activities and to plan introduction of future upgrades.
Develop documentation about existing simulators and future one.
Required:
BS, MS or PhD in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
5+ years relevant experience developing and operating State of the Art Simulators HiL systems.
Engineering Design; knowledge and understanding of design methodology for test system and simulators in particular.
Strong knowledge of HiL hardware and software environment and integration.
Strong knowledge of Motion systems, actuator control and communication protocols.
Project Management experience in handling complex technical projects under stressful environment and tight time schedule.
High Organization skills. Every project must be detailed organized and documented.
High Leadership capabilities, handling project teams where resources are shared within different groups.
Strong knowledge and experience about controls systems and data analysis tools.
Troubleshooting; diagnostic skills for machines, electronics and test instruments.
Computer Skills
Expert with the Matlab/Simulink and modelling of real time environments.
Proficient with Automation system components as Kollmorgen and Beckhoff.
Proficient with communication protocols as Ethercat, CAN, UDP. Knowledgeable on Twincat system.
Proficient with the usual MS Office suite of applications especially Access & Excel.
Proficient with MS Project and Visio.
Proficient with CAD software.
Preferred Experience:
Direct experience developing/operating multiple different typologies of HIL Simulators.
Experience on reducing simulator latency.
Experience on developing most effective cueing system.
Experience on improving visual system.
Experience on acquisition, calibration and troubleshooting of sensors.
Experience in Engineering computer software, such as Lab View and Dewesoft.
