Job Description:

Sun Life’s Corporate Finance team is leading the journey of Digital Enterprise (DE) for the Global Finance community through a Finance Accelerator. Leveraging DE principles and values, the Finance Accelerator’s purpose is to modernize Finance through process redesign and automation, establishing best practices, developing common tool platforms on an enterprise scale and applying data and analytics to inform, influence and tackle business problems.

We are looking for a bright, energetic and resourceful person to join our team and work with the Finance Accelerator to support Process Optimization & Automation, IFRS 17 Readiness Acceleration and Reporting Optimization through business intelligence and other tools.

This opportunity is available to students with a December 2025 or later graduation date.

What will you do?

Development (80% of the time)

  • Design and develop automation solutions by leveraging the common tools including but not limit to Excel VBA, Power Query and Python
  • Perform the developer tests to ensure all solutions are delivered with highest quality
  • Troubleshoot technical/application problems and provide timely support to user queries and issues related to the automation solutions
  • Participate in innovative solutioning that encompasses root cause analysis, assessment of options, proof of concept and a comprehensive implementation plan
  • Active communications with internal clients, including engagement status, solutioning options and recommendations
  • Support all initiatives and driving assigned tasks to completion

Operational Support (20% of the time)

  • Prepare process design document for automation solutions
  • Identify and track benefits of opportunities in our pipeline and delivered solutions to demonstrate value to our stakeholders


What do you need to succeed?

  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent Discipline
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to bring opinions, comments and thoughts forward.  Able to drive discussions and meet objectives
  • Genuine interest in process improvement and a passion to deliver on process efficiency
  • Highly proficient in Excel VBA and working knowledge of Power Query, Power Pivot, Tableau, Python, data management and SQL
  • Excellent time management and strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet numerous deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to take initiative, desire to learn and work independently

    The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted for. The Base Pay which you will be considered for will vary depending on the Campus program you are selected for.

    Eligible Sun Life employees for various Campus Graduate programs will also participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance
