About the Role
As the Onboarding Manager at Dakota, you’ll be the driving force behind delivering a world-class onboarding experience for our customers. You’ll lead the end-to-end process, from KYB and regulatory compliance to ensuring a seamless, white-glove experience across downstream banking and payment providers.
This is a hybrid strategic and operational role where you’ll design scalable policies, deliver exceptional client experiences, and work cross-functionally with Sales, Compliance, Engineering, and external partners. You'll be the face of Dakota for new clients, shaping their early experience and ensuring a high-touch, high-trust onboarding process. Key Responsibilities
Client Onboarding Ownership
Own the full onboarding lifecycle for Dakota’s business-focused client base.
Oversee collection, review, and verification of KYB documentation to ensure regulatory compliance.
Coordinate onboarding with downstream banking and payment providers
Client-First Excellence
Deliver an exceptional client experience with proactive communication, and a personalized approach.
Serve as a trusted partner to clients, anticipating their needs and resolving concerns with clarity and care.
Policy and Process Development
Build and maintain onboarding policies, playbooks, and workflows to ensure operational consistency and compliance.
Design a scalable framework that supports team growth and aligns with evolving regulatory standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Sales to align onboarding with client expectations and pre-sale commitments.
Work with outside compliance consultants to tailor frameworks to complex fund and flow-of-funds structures.
Collaborate with Engineering to improve onboarding through product enhancements and automation.
Coordinate with Payments and Banking teams to ensure seamless go-live transitions
Support Involvement
Step in to assist with support inquiries when needed, developing a full-stack understanding of the Dakota platform and its users.
Who You Are
Experienced: 4+ years managing onboarding or client implementation processes in fintech, banking, crypto, or brokerage environments
Compliance Fluent: Strong grasp of KYB, AML, and UBO diligence
Client Obsessed: Proven track record delivering high-touch client service and building trust
Process-Oriented: Comfortable designing repeatable processes and frameworks to scale operations
Collaborative: Skilled at working cross-functionally with Sales, Compliance, Engineering, and third-party providers
Detail-Driven: Highly organized, with excellent documentation and follow-through skills
