The Role

SSGA is seeking a visionary and strategic Global Head of Specialists. This executive role will lead a high-impact team of product and market specialists responsible for shaping and articulating SSGA’s investment capabilities—spanning indexing, active strategies, ESG, and custom solutions—to align with global economic outlooks and long-term client objectives.

The Global Head of Specialist will play a critical role in developing the strategic framework for investment themes, providing actionable insights for client portfolios, and serving as a key voice of SSGA in external forums. The successful candidate will act as a bridge between investment teams, distribution, and clients—translating complex market trends into clear investment narratives and solutions

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Team Management:

  • Lead and develop a global team of product and market specialists across regions and asset classes.

  • Define a forward-looking strategic framework that aligns SSGA’s investment capabilities with evolving market dynamics and client needs.

  • Collaborate closely with Investment, ESG, Product, and Distribution leadership to integrate insights across the firm.

Investment Strategy & Alignment

  • Guide the development of market and economic outlooks to shape the positioning of investment solutions across indexed, active, smart beta, and thematic strategies.

  • Partner with investment teams to translate macroeconomic and geopolitical trends into actionable portfolio insights.

  • Drive innovation in thematic investing, multi-asset solutions, and sustainability integration.

Client & Distribution Engagement:

  • Support institutional and intermediary distribution teams with market intelligence, product insights, and tailored investment narratives.

  • Serve as a senior resource in strategic client discussions to identify long-term investment solutions and articulate SSGA’s value proposition.

Thought Leadership & Media Representation:

  • Represent SSGA at industry events, conferences, and roundtables as a senior spokesperson on global investment topics.

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications teams to develop thought leadership and media content that enhances SSGA’s market presence.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 15+ years of experience in investment management, investment strategy, or product leadership.

  • Deep knowledge of both passive and active investment approaches, including ETFs, ESG strategies, and institutional mandates.

  • Proven track record in leading global or cross-regional specialist teams.

  • Expertise in market analysis, investment positioning, and client solution development.

  • Strong public speaking, media, and written communication skills.

  • Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, or related discipline; CFA or similar credential preferred.

Salary Range:

$170,000 - $282,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
