Role

The Rooms Controller is responsible for ensuring guests have a memorable stay at our resort by managing guest room assignments, monitoring room availability, collaborating with support departments and strategizing room inventory plans. In partnership with the Front Desk leadership team and other operational departments, you will be focused on managing the hotel’s room inventory to maximize revenue and guest service scores.


Responsibilities

  • Ensure the hotel is set up for success by appropriately blocking guestrooms and balancing room types to enhance revenue opportunities and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Block VIPs and Owners/RCI members into upgraded room types while allocating the proper number of rooms to be reserved for upgrades performed by the front desk that generate revenue.
  • Manage Out of Order and Out of Service room’s inventory, following up with departments such as Housekeeping, Engineering, and Front Desk teams.
  • Monitor the property CMMS for Engineering Blitz readiness.
  • Manage the Pending Arrivals and work in conjunction with Housekeeping and Engineering to deliver units to guest in a timely manner.
  • Actively participate in Group Strategy meetings to ensure group inventory is managed accordingly, down to the room type level.
  • Ensure inventory across Property Management System (Cornerstone) and Central Reservations System (Owner Services) are in balance and take corrective action in the event of variances.
  • Any task as assigned by the Resort Leadership team.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent education required
  • Prior front desk or hotel guest service experience strongly preferred. 1-2 years prior customer service experience required. Extensive experience with computers and telephones.
  • Professional appearance that is clean, natural, polished, and professional
  • Effective communication skills and proficient oral and written English language skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Extensive knowledge of the hotel, its services and facilities.
